We’ve come a long way from Mark Hamill as the Trickster. DC has Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl in circulation right now, while Marvel has Agents of SHIELD, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and others. Even if you’re not satisfied with the movies, we’re seeing remarkable storytelling with some of these shows, even surpassing the old barometer of the seventies Hulk.

As comics aren’t just about capes, neither are shows based on comics. If non-superhero properties like Preacher and The Walking Dead can stake their claim on the glowing box, keeping superheroes on TV won’t be too hard. They’ve been a fixture since the George Reeves Superman, and have only grown in popularity.
