Mark Hamill got a hand up on some Star Wars fans this week. During a promo video for the Star Wars ‘Force for Change’ contests, Hamill crashed the scenes to make a surprise announcement. He also got to channel his own inner Darth Vader.
‘Force for Change’ is a charity competition from Omaze in partnership with Lucasfilm to benefit Starlight Children’s Foundation and UNICEF. Hamill added a fourth prize to the pool: a private lunch with him in Los Angeles, plus two tickets to a pre-screening of The Last Jedi. But Hamill, being the jokester he is, couldn’t resist some shenanigans while making the announcement.
The lucky fans were told they’d be recreating iconic scenes from the movies, including Luke’s pensive moment on Tatooine, the moment Luke Skywalker finds out that Darth Vader is his father, and of course, the pivotal scene where Rey hands Skywalker the lightsaber in The Force Awakens. Hamill made an appearance in each one, once even as a less-than-convincing Darth Vader. He donned a hoodie to reenact that final scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. “I had more lines with you than in the movies,” he joked to his co-star. You can check out the video here below:
