Oh, Stan Lee. Over your 70-year career, and after appearing in every film adaptation of your work over the years, your cameos have become a major part of the Marvel cinematic experience. This year’s Deadpool was the newest introduction of the Fox-owned property, which proved to be a surprise hit, earning over $700 million at the box office — the highest-grossing R-rated film ever.

Talking to a panel at Megacon, Stan Lee spoke about his appearance in Deadpool as a Nightclub DJ. You can catch a clip of his answer below.

“I was not actually in the topless dancing place. I filmed it in a studio, and they put it in there after. For the next one, I’m going to be right there!”

The audience, obviously upset to hear about the true nature of his scene, rejoiced with laughter after Lee ‘confirmed’ his reappearance as DJ LEE in Deadpool 2, set for release next year.

For almost 17 years, Marvel guru Stan Lee has appeared in 31 film and television shows based on the characters he helped create. Most recently, he was seen in X-Men: Apocalypse, where we was hugging his real-life wife Joan after witnessing the destruction of The Horseman of War. He will next be seen, most likely, in Doctor Strange, set to hit cinemas in November.

Deadpool was considered 2016’s big surprise comic book film hit, cementing Ryan Reynolds as a star (again) and promising an R-rated franchise which has proven to be able to hold its own at the box office. With its recent success, compared to the luke-warm reception of their other property X-Men, and last year’s flop with Fantastic Four, it would seem 20th Century Fox will be working harder than ever to achieve continued success for the Merc-with-a-mouth.

Deadpool is currently available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and VOD.
