However, with a new report from The Wrap (via JoBlo), they say that Johnson isn’t the best person to have on set—especially with his upcoming Christmas film, Red One.

According to the report, Johnson had apparently cost Amazon MGM millions (specifically $50 million) by being constantly late on set—regulary showing up at least 5-8 hours late. It was also this ‘chronic lateness’ that got Johnson into fights with Vin Diesel on the Fast & Furious movies, and apparently a ‘huge fight’ with Red Notice co-star Ryan Reynolds.

With the lateness also comes a weird new bit of information from Johnson in that he is said to have a habit of peeing in a bottle to save time. The insider said, “On set, away from his trailer, if he needs to pee, he doesn’t go to the public bathroom… He pees in a Voss water bottle and his team or a PA has to dispose of it.”

In Johnson’s defense, Amazon was quick to release a statement on his behavior saying, “Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks have been incredible partners on ‘Red One’… we couldn’t have made it without Dwayne’s constant work and support. Any reporting that implies that we got to this point with him showing up seven-eight hours late to set is both ridiculous and false.“

With the Rock’s family-friendly/hardworking persona, this news is certainly coming as a shock to a lot of people, but there have been rumblings of Johnson being difficult to deal with since Black Adam where he allegedly bullied his way into getting Henry Cavill back as Superman and refused to share the screen with Shazam, Black Adam’s actual comic rival. There’s also that thing in his Fast contracts where it’s written that he can’t lose a fight onscreen.

This is certainly a huge blow to the Rock’s image, and I can’t wait to see how he’s going to respond. For now, the internet is just having a ball making pee jokes, but wasting an entire working crew’s time constantly is no laughing matter.

In the interview, Ferguson admits that she was once shouted at by a high-profile actor during one of her jobs, and she has since refused to work with them in her career. Here’s what she said:

‘Because this person was number one on the call sheet, there was no safety net for me, so no one had my back. And I remember the next day I walked on, and I said, ‘you get off my set.’ It’s the first time I’ve ever spoken, and I remember being so scared and I looked at this person and I said, ‘you can f off. I’m going to work with a tennis ball and never wanna see you again.’

The producers apparently came to Ferguson with a compromise, and she ended up doing her scenes with them talking to the back of their head.

Immediately, everyone ended up scrambling, wondering who was the person who got angry at Ferguson. Rebecca Ferguson did confirm that it was neither Tom Cruise nor Hugh Jackman; so names of her former co-stars started coming up including Dwayne Johnson, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Michael Fassbender.

A lot of fans had their money on Johnson being the one who screamed at Ferguson, but he then released a statement and Ferguson then started following him on social media:

One of the top contenders—with some evidence—is actor Hugh Grant. Grant has been public about his co-stars getting angry at him, and in his scene in Florence Foster Jenkins, he has his back turned to Ferguson’s character.

Granted, Rebecca Ferguson could also be talking about a woman (notice how she doesn’t reveal the person’s gender throughout the whole story), but nobody thinks that Meryl Streep would talk like that to someone.

We don’t know who the person could be, but the internet is definitely on the trail to find them.

We don’t know what the story could be about yet, but we should expect Moana and Maui to come back and go on another mystical adventure.

In the first movie, we saw Moana take over her tribe and finally have them exploring outside of their island, as they were originally explorers. We should expect the sequel to expand on that concept; but since we’re expecting some kind of conflict, it’s possible that opening up the world to her people could lead to some consequences that Moana should be expecting.

It’s also worth noting that Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote music for the original movie, is said not to be returning for the sequel.

It’s said that this sequel was originally conceptualized as a series, but with Bob Iger taking over again, it’s possible that he saw the success of the Moana property and decided that it would probably draw in an audience in the movie theaters.

With Disney also gearing up for a live-action adaptation of Moana with Dwayne Johnson, it would make sense for the studio to keep audiences updated on Moana’s world and lore, just to keep everyone excited about its mystical pacific islander influence.

Moana 2 is set to release in theaters in November.

As per the official announcement, a live-action Moana is going to be in the works for Disney, and it looks like Dwayne Johnson is expected to reprise the role of the demi-god Maui. Johnson said this about the role:

“I wear this culture proudly on my skin and in my soul, and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reunite with Maui, inspired by the mana and spirit of my late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, is one that runs very deep for me. I want to thank my partners at Disney for their strong commitment to this special endeavor, because there is no better world for us to honor the story of our people, our passion and our purpose than through the realm of music and dance, which is at the core of who we are as Polynesian people.”

Besides Johnson, Auli’I Cravalho, who was the original voice of Moana, is also attached to the project as an executive producer. Now I’m curious if Lin-Manuel Miranda is also coming back to write some new songs for this movie as well.

There’s definitely a lot to love about Moana, and a live-action adaptation shouldn’t be much of a stretch. If anything, I thought Frozen would be the first movie to get an adaptation, but with no Moana 2 in sight (and the Rock probably done playing Black Adam), I think a live-action version of the film could be the next big thing for Disney.

No release date has been set for the live-action Moana, but you can catch another sea adventure with The Little Mermaid which hits theaters on May 26.

If you’ve watched the mid-credits scene for Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the clip has Shazam being recruited by Amanda Waller’s lapdogs Harcourt and Economos (from Peacemaker). As it turns out, the original plan was to have the JSA themselves appear and recruit Billy, but Johnson was said to have vetoed the decision, forcing director David F. Sandberg to make a hurried decision to have Economos and Harcourt.

So far, Johnson himself hasn’t said anything about the rumor, but some say that he was trying to restructure the DCEU around himself and Henry Cavill’s Superman before James Gunn and Peter Safran took over.

Seeing as how I actually liked Shazam! 2 a lot more than I expected, it’s kind of a shame that the Rock didn’t want the two characters to clash onscreen. If anything, he kind of owes the Shazam! team an apology, because his refusal to connect Black Adam with that movie was what led to a lot of people thinking Shazam! was going to be terrible; and it turns out it was leagues better than Black Adam.

Then again, that’s just my own opinion.

We don’t know why the Rock would decline a cameo in the film about his arch-nemesis, but I think it’s also completely possible that there could have been a scheduling conflict. For all this talk of Johnson fighting so hard to bring Henry Cavill’s Superman back, you’d think he’d have time to share for his long-time comic nemesis.

For now, there are conflicting reports on whether Black Adam made money in theaters or not, with some claiming that the Rock had shared false numbers to make it seem that his movie didn’t flop. One thing’s for sure, James Gunn and Peter Safran are working on revamping the whole DC, and we could be looking at a full clean slate with nobody left but John Cena’s Peacemaker.

For now, you can watch out for Shazam! Fury of the Gods when it release in theaters on March 17, 2023.

“The image you see on this post, and what you saw in Black Adam are just a very small taste of things to come,” says Cavill. He continues, “I want to thank you guys most of all. Thank you for your support, and thank you for your patience. I promise it will be rewarded.”

Cavill’s Superman status had been up in the air since Justice League 2017, but after some restructuring in WB (and surprisingly, some pushing from the Rock), he’s now set to come back and appear in future Superman projects. Fingers crossed he also appears in some other material, since the Rock seems to be so adamant to have a clash between Black Adam and Superman—that’s why he wanted Cavill back so bad.

If anything, a lot of fans are pretty happy that Cavill is returning. With so many debates about the quality of his Superman, I’m glad he’s going to have another stab at the character. I’m just hoping we get something not as bleak as Man of Steel, but certainly something more mature than Black Adam.

In the meantime, catch Cavill as Superman in Black Adam now in cinemas.

Now The Hollywood Reporter is saying that the latest DC shakeup actually has the studio pushing forward on a Man of Steel sequel, and the project is said to be in early development, with Cavill onboard to reprise the role of the Last Son of Krypton.

We don’t have any details when it comes to story, but it’s said that Charles Roven is going to produce the film, which is currently on the lookout for a scriptwriter. What’s interesting is, Christipher McQuarrie, who directed Cavill in Mission: Impossible, is said to be being eyed for the role of writer. For now, nothing official has been confirmed.

What’s interesting is, this Superman project is said to have pushed forward thanks to Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson. Johnson was said to have been insistent in having Cavill come back for Superman, and when  DCEU head Walter Hamada said no, Johnson was said to have went over his head and got Cavill’s return in the bag; now everyone is excited for Clark Kent to make an appearance in Black Adam, with the tease that the two could be clashing in a few years.

I guess I’m just wondering, “How about Black Adam’s clash with Shazam? His infamous nemesis from the comics?”

No release date has been announced for a Man of Steel sequel, but you can watch out for Black Adam when it hits theaters Oct. 21.

With the Justice League already being established in the DCEU, it’s curious how the Justice Society came to be. I’m guessing they’re government-sanctioned as well since they seem to have connections to Amanda Waller, but I’m open for the idea that they’ve existed even before the League was formed.

Rumors have been going around that DC is actually planning on fully re-embracing the lore of the Snyder movies, but we have no official confirmation yet. Word has it that it will be established with the Flash movie making use of the Multiverse concept, but until we get something else official, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Personally, I am all for the continuation of the Snyderverse, but I do understand if DC just wants to completely reboot the entire thing. If you ask me, they should try their best to make themselves different from Marvel, rather than try and replicate their formula.

If you’ve read the comics, you’ll know that Adam is usually described as a villain, but with Dwayne Johnson being cast in the role, I think they’re going to be set on making him a more noble character; then again, I’m just basing this in Johnson’s track record. I would really love for him to play a role where the audience won’t be sure of they could root for him.

The trailer also gives us a look at the JSA. While we get clips of characters like Hawkman and Atom Smasher, it looks like Doctor Fate will be the one trying to convince Adam to take on a nobler path. There’s also a shot of who some suspect is Kevin Hart as Mister Terrific, but some have said that that’s actually Hawkman before his transformation.

Fans are still holding out for an appearance from Shazam Zachary Levi, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens in the film.

With Adam known mostly for being a villain in the comics, I’m curious how the movie will approach the character, seeing that the Rock usually plays the ‘muscle-bound good guy’. Though I expect the Rock to change the character up a bit per his usual roles, I’m hoping that he embraces the part of an antihero this time around. I mean, not every character has to be as quippy and lighthearted as a Marvel hero.

Change things up, Johnson! (please).

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of playing some great (fun) characters over the years, but none speak to my DNA more than this antihero known as the man in black, Teth Adam.

We don’t know why Johnson would feel so connected to the character, but so far he has been very public about how Black Adam feels like a passion project for him. Hopefully this will be a different character from his usual persona in films where he’s a friendly muscle man with quips.

With Shazam!: Fury of the Gods coming out this year, I’m really curious how DC is going to be treating Shazam’s arch enemy. Though Billy Batson embodies the fun-and-games spirit of a chile, Adam is a hardened leader, who has grew up from poverty. It’s like watching two genres of superhero clash with each other—whenever that crossover happens.

With Black Adam set for an October release, we should be expecting a new trailer soon. Maybe we’ll get them once reshoots are out of the way. I suspect we’ll get something around June.

We’ve known for a while that the Justice League will be captured in this movie, and though it looked like a plot by Lex Luthor, it seems that another talking animal will be the one to take down the world’s elite team of superheroes—enter Krypto and his friends who have some newly-gained powers and are also new to the superhero gig.

Though the main focus of the movie is going to be the animals, I’m kind of excited to see the rest of the Justice League. The movie has some very unique designs for DC’s biggest heroes, and they have been serving looks that no live-action film would even bother with. I mean, classic Cyborg with the afro? Zack Snyder wouldn’t dare.

While we thought that the film just mostly featured the Super-Pets, it looks like members of the Justice League will be present as well with John Krasinski providing the voice for Superman. We don’t have the full voice cast yet, but the trailer does give us looks at Wonder Woman, Batman, Cyborg, and a female Green Lantern.

Other stars in the cast include Diego Luna (Chip), Natasha Lyonne (Merton), and Vanessa Bayer (PB). Jameela Jamil, Kate McKinnon, and Keanu Reeves are also listed in the cast. Probably the oddest cast member is GLOW’s Marc Maron, who is playing the part of Lex Luthor. If you follow Maron, you’ll know that he has a lot to say about the comic book genre; after an appearance in Joker and now Super-Pets, I think he just has an issue with Marvel.

Talking to Variety, Johnson commented on how the incident with Hutchins left him ‘heartbroken’ and he promised that moving forward, his production company will no longer be working with real guns. He says:

“I can’t speak for anyone else, but I can tell you, without an absence of clarity here, that any movie that we have moving forward with Seven Bucks Productions — any movie, any television show, or anything we do or produce — we won’t use real guns at all.”

While we don’t have any detailed specifics of how Johnson is going to pull that off, he did say, “We’re going to switch over to rubber guns, and we’re going to take care of it in post… We’re not going to worry about the dollars; we won’t worry about what it costs.”

can imagine that this will spark a lot of outrage in the industry—and maybe lose some jobs for professional gun handlers—but with Johnson being such a huge public figure, it will sure spark some discussion when it comes to gun safety—even when it’s just in the case of movie sets.

We don’t know when Johnson’s first gun-less movie is going to be, but you can catch him holding up some firearms in Netflix’s Red Notice.

An Interpol-issued Red Notice is a global alert to hunt and capture the world’s most wanted. But when a daring heist brings together the FBI’s top profiler (Johnson) and two rival criminals (Gadot, Reynolds), there’s no telling what will happen.

The premise seems simple enough with all three actors working on their strengths. The Rock is still a solid action star with Ryan Reynolds being able to pull off both action and comedy. Gal Gadot may not be Wonder Woman here, but she demands attention with her femme fatale vibe, and it would be interesting to see her bounce off of two of the most bankable actors in Hollywood today.

It’s also worth noting that the movie comes from director Rawson Marshall Thurber who has directed films like Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and We’re the Millers. Though the trailer is leaning heavily on the action scenes, it’s likely Red Notice is also going to be a laugh riot; even Reynolds alone can be hysterical, and we can just have the Rock and Gadot play straight man to his character.

Catch Red Notice when it premieres on Netflix Nov. 12.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Lee shares what he thinks a sequel to A New Legacy could be about. He says:

“Dwayne Johnson would be an interesting choice… It would be different. I’m not exactly sure what his skillset would be, maybe he goes back to wrestling. That might be interesting.”

So far, fan response for A New Legacy hasn’t been positive, and the film has been criticized for being over-saturized with WB’s IP. Despite that, some are reporting that the film is actually doing pretty well with families; which is funny since the first Space Jam is also considered a mess,  but has managed to receive cult status because of how much kids loved it.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but I think it’s interesting to delve into other sports when it comes to sequels. There were even plans for a Skate Jam with Tony Hawk before the film was cancelled. Wrestling could be a fun time for the Looney Tunes, granted the sport demands colorful characters and spectacle. If Lee won’t return though, I think The LEGO Movie’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller would be a great choice to take on the helm.

Since the photo is in black and white, you can kind of feel like the set is that of the Rock of Eternity, where Billy Batson meets the Wizard in the first film. While it’s possible that could be the case, I’m guessing this is some kind of ancient throne room where Adam is (or was) the ruler.

Though Black Adam is considered an antagonist in the comics, the casting of the Rock kind of makes me feel that they are going the anti-hero direction for the character. Though the Rock essentially plays the same character in every one of his films, I’m kind of hoping that he goes a more serious direction when it comes to Adam. Closer to that of Jason Momoa’s more stoic Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League before he was turned into another quippy hero in Aquaman.

Besides Adam, there are other DC heroes set to make their debut in the film like Doctor Fate, Atom Smasher, and Hawkman. While they are members of the Justice Society of America, it’s possible WB could make some kind of change as to not have the audience confuse them with the Justice League.

Black Adam is set to hit theaters on July 29, 2022. The next DCEU film, The Suicide Squad, is set to come out on HBO Max and theaters on Aug. 6.

We don’t have a look at Johnson in costume yet, but we can already see how hard he’s trained to get fit for the role. Heck, his body is always jacked that at this point, everyone was probably starting to think that was his natural state.

A plot for Black Adam is yet to be revealed, but it will likely be a prequel to Shazam! which will show Adam gaining the powers before Billy Batson was chosen by the Wizard. Besides Adam, the film is also set to introduce a bunch of other DC heroes like Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Cyclone (Maxine Hunkell), and Hawkman (Carter Hall).

With the Rock essentially playing the same character in all of his previous films (i.e., a muscle-bound family-friendly man), it would be great to see him embrace the anti-hero role of Black Adam. Though The Mummy Returns gets a lot of flak, I remember enjoying the Rock’s performance as a villain in the film, and it would be great to see him play someone more stoic and serious in Black Adam.

Then again, that’s just my opinion.

What’s great is we also have confirmation that Kevin Hart will be providing the voice of Ace the Bat-Hound. We don’t know who else is playing who, but we do know that the cast includes the likes of Kate McKinnon, John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, and Keanu Reeves.

If I were to guess, the Super-Pets movie is likely to have Kate McKinnon be the voice of Streaky the Super-Cat, and it’s possible that Keanu Reeves could either be the main villain or the voice of an animated Superman. With the teaser using the classic John Williams score from the Christopher Reeve Superman, there’s a chance that they could be keeping to that continuity; but it’s likely going to have its own timeline as to not keep the writers in a creative box.

So far, the animation of Super-Pets film looks on par with the animated Scoob! film that recently came out. While that movie may not have gotten the best reviews, it was still wonderfully animated, and I’m actually looking forward to a rebooted Hanna-Barbera cinematic universe.

It’s probably going to be a while before we get another look at DC’s League of Super-Pets as the movie is set to come out on May 20, 2022.
