Disney isn’t the only one with big reveals this weekend, as Paramount has dropped a first look at their upcoming Transformers film, Rise of the Beasts. The trailer showcases the live-action debut of the Maximals including Optimus Primal, Cheetor, and Rhinox.

Here’s the official description for the film:
Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new breed of Transformer – the Maximals – to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons.
Though Bumblebee only focused on a handful of robots, this sequel promises to give us a whole lot of them again. Besides Prime and Bee, we also have a look at Arcee who is given more of a starring role this time. A lot of fans also thought that this would be the reintroduction of Jazz from the first film, but the Porsche we see is actually Mirage.
As for the Maximals, we only get to see Primal, Cheetor, Rhinox, and Airazor. Though they look like regular animals in the Beast Wars series, it looks like they’ve been upscaled to be the same size as the Autobots.
The main antagonist is said to be Scourge of the Terrorcons, and he’ll be voiced by Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage. We’ve yet to get a look at the robots that will be fighting for his side though.
Catch Transformers: Rise of the Beasts when it comes to theaters on June 9, 2023.
