Quintel’s Close Enough, but one animated series is coming back from the dead with Clone High.

Just in, we have our first teaser, and characters from the original series have been given new classmates in the form of Confucius, Harriet Tubman, Frida Kahlo, and more. Check this out:

Here’s the official synopsis:

Historical figures who have been cloned and placed back in high school, including Abraham Lincoln, Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, John F. Kennedy and more, as they face the trials of normal teenage life.

One character that won’t be returning in the show is Ghandi, who was said to have been considered offensive by India, and was said to be the reason the series was cancelled in that country. If anything, the reboot is said to be addressing Ghandi’s absence, so at least his fate isn’t up in the air.

I guess it’s worth mentioning that this show was created by Bill Lawrence, Phil Lord, and Chris Miller, all of whom have been behind some of the most critically praised projects today from Ted Lasso to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. With so much love backing the original series, it’s kind of crazy to think that Clone High is coming back; and they’ve managed to keep them teenagers in this show as well.

Clone High is set to premiere on HBO Max this Spring.

Get What You Need in New Trailer for Ted Lasso Season 3 https://www.geekfeed.com/get-what-you-need-in-for-ted-lasso-season-3/ Tue, 28 Feb 2023 16:12:23 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=73535 This March will see the return of AFC Richmond and their ever-optimistic coach Ted Lasso, and with two weeks till the premiere, we have a new trailer giving us a look at Season 3.

Check this out:

Here’s the official description for Ted Lasso 3:

In the third season of Ted Lasso, the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them to finish last in the Premier League and Nate (Nick Mohammed), now hailed as the “wonder kid,” has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United. In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt). Meanwhile, while Ted (Jason Sudeikis) deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.

The trailer doesn’t really have any dialogue, but we can see a lot of moments in the official description with Roy taking over as assistant, and Nate becoming his own coach for the enemy team.

We actually also see a lot of character growth from Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) who has started out being an arrogant jerk in the first season, to an actual team player.

Ted Lasso wasn’t expected to be as successful as it was, but as it turns out, a feel-good show about an optimistic coach could be just what people needed around the time of the pandemic.

Ted Lasso 3 premieres on Apple TV+ on March 15.

Believe in Ted Lasso in Latest Teaser for 3rd Season https://www.geekfeed.com/believe-ted-lasso-in-latest-teaser-for-3rd-season/ Fri, 17 Feb 2023 13:30:14 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=73396 Ted Lasso wasn’t expected to succeed as well as it did, but everyone has fallen in love with Jason Sudeikis’ ever-optimistic foot ball coach. The third season is set to come back this March, and we have a new teaser featuring everyone else on ‘Team Lasso’.

Check this out:

We also have a synopsis for the third season:

In this third season of Ted Lasso, the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them as last in the Premier League and Nate (Nick Mohammed), now hailed as the “wonder kid,” has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United.

One character clearly missing from the lineup is Nate, who the last season has revealed to be the new coach for a rival team West Ham United. Though Nate did turn out to be the surprise villain of the finale, I have a feeling that he’s eventually going to end up back in good terms with Ted and the rest—especially since he’s working for someone who is considerably selfish in the form of Rebecca’s ex, Rupert.

So far, each character has managed to grow in meaningful ways throughout the season, and a lot of fans are excited for the underdog AFC Richmond to push through with Ted behind them.

Catch Ted Lasso 3 when it premieres on Apple TV+ on March 15.

Shrinking: Jason Segel is a Therapist On the Pursuit of Happiness in Latest Trailer https://www.geekfeed.com/jason-segel-is-a-therapist-in-shrinking/ Thu, 26 Jan 2023 14:37:24 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=73065 He may be best known as Marshall in How I Met Your Mother, but Jason Segel has teamed up with Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence for a show about a shrink going through loss. Shrinking is set to premiere by the end of the week, and we have a trailer featuring Segel and Harrison Ford.

Check this out:

Lawrence and Segel have co-created the series alongside Lasso star Brett Goldstein. While the character of Jimmy (Segel) may be struggling in this story, we should expect Shrinking to have a more optimistic message as the episodes go along—as we shouldn’t expect any less from the people who worked on Ted Lasso.

Here’s the series description:

Shrinking follows a grieving therapist (played by Segel) who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives…including his own.

After HIMYM, it feels like Segel has been trying to shake off his Marshall typecasting by pursuing all kinds of different, more artsy projects; but with Shrinking, I guess he could be coming back to something more positive and optimistic while not being as typical as a multi-cam sitcom.

I’ll admit, the show nabbing Harrison Ford is also kind of a surprise, but with him being part of blockbusters and not really needing any TV appearances, it feels like Shrinking could be a project that Ford was personally interested in.

Shrinking is set to premiere on Apple TV+ this Jan. 27.

Jason Segel and Harrison Ford Star in Teaser for ‘Shrinking’ https://www.geekfeed.com/jason-segel-and-harrison-ford-star-in-shrinking/ Sat, 03 Dec 2022 13:51:07 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72270 Audiences are gearing up for Harrison Ford’s return as Indiana Jones next year, but Apple TV+ has managed to book him for an upcoming series from the minds that brought you Ted Lasso.

Here’s the teaser for Shrinking starring Ford and Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother):

Here’s the official synopsis:

Shrinking follows a grieving therapist (played by Segel) who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives … including his own.

Besides Segel and Ford, the show also has appearances from Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Luke Tennie.

Admittedly, we don’t see enough of the series to form some kind of opinion, but knowing that Ted Lasso’s Bill Lawrence (as well as Lasso actor Brett Goldstein) helped make the show, we should have an idea of what to expect. Fans didn’t even know that Ted Lasso was going to be the hit that it was, but I think that some audiences just want a feel-good, positive series after the dark few years that we’ve been having recently.

With a release date set for January, we should expect some kind of full trailer soon. At least they got our attention with this teaser.

Shrinking premieres on Apple TV+ with its first two episodes on Jan. 27, 2023. Expect new episodes to follow every Friday for the rest of the season.

Ted Lasso: Brett Goldstein Responds to Conspiracy Theory that Roy is a CG Character https://www.geekfeed.com/ted-lasso-brett-goldstein-responds-to-conspiracy-theory/ Sat, 04 Sep 2021 20:59:26 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=61317 Apple TV’s Ted Lasso is a pretty easygoing, non-problematic show, and somehow it’s fanbase has come up with one of the most ridiculous conspiracy theories—that the character of Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) is completely CGI. Twitter has been getting comments like this:

https://twitter.com/alexdahlberry/status/1433472559207563268

Now Goldstein himself has decided to respond to the conspiracy to lay down any more doubts whether he’s playing a CG character or not. Here’s his post:

It’s funny that Roy should be the center of such a ridiculous theory as he’s a pretty no-nonsense presence in the show. Whereas Ted is all about optimism and positivity, Roy is an interesting foil in which he’s just intense, seething anger that’s necessary to keep everyone on the team in line.

Goldstein has just won the HCA TV award for Best Supporting Actor in a Streaming Service, and the second season of Lasso has been getting stellar reviews so far. We don’t know what other ridiculous fan theory could come our way when it comes to the show, but it will probably be hard to top the idea that Roy is an entirely CG character that Apple is trying to sneak under the fans’ noses.

Jason Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer.

Catch the second season of Ted Lasso now streaming on Apple TV.

Apple has had Talks to Acquire A24 https://www.geekfeed.com/apple-has-had-talks-to-acquire-a24/ Mon, 19 Jul 2021 17:42:28 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=60588 While the cinemas have been filled with blockbusters and superhero films, A24 is a studio that manages to make a profit in the box office with their more ‘high-art’ movies. With studios like Disney scooping up the most profitable brands, it looks like on big company is seeking to acquire the independent studio.

As reported by Bloomberg, Apple has had talks to acquire A24 for $3 billion. We don’t know how far the talks have gone, but everyone online is thinking of the consequences of an acquisition.

For one, this would be considered a win-win for both A24 and Apple, seeing as A24 already has a library of content, and Apple is still seeking to grow its streaming service. With Netflix and Amazon going head-to-head when it comes to quality content, Apple is just slowly growing their library; that being said, they have had some great shows under their belt, what with titles like Ted Lasso and Mythic Quest. An acquisition of A24 is expected to draw a lot more talent to Apple TV, should a deal go down.

On the other hand, a lot of people continue to worry about the state of the Streaming Wars. With some studios becoming exclusive to specific streaming services, it’s getting harder for audiences to check out specific content they would like to see. You think the average consumer is willing to pay for more than 2 streaming services in a month?

For now, nothing seems to be set in stone. While some are hoping for the streaming services to agree to a more consumer friendly model, it looks like we’ll continue to see these big acquisitions down the line.

The next big A24 release, The Green Knight, is set to come out on July 30.

Game of Thrones Star Explains How She was Literally Waterboarded for the Show https://www.geekfeed.com/game-of-thrones-star-explains-how-she-was-literally-waterboarded-for-the-show/ Fri, 28 May 2021 08:21:29 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59719 Game of Thrones is never short on tormentor characters, and one of Cersei’s was one Septa Unella a.k.a. the Shame Bell Lady. Unella eventually met her comeuppance in the show in the hands of the Mountain, but actress Hannah Waddingham reveals that she had to experience some real-life torture when she was shooting Unella’s end.

Talking to Collider, Waddingham had revealed that she was literally waterboarded when she was shooting scenes of Cersei turning the tables on Unella. In what she describes as ‘other than childbirth, the worst day of my life,’ Waddingham explains how she was strapped onto a table for 10 hours with Lena Headey pouring liquid on her face.

Apparently, Waddingham had exerted herself so much during the shoot that she had lost her voice as she was ‘screaming through the Mountain’s hand,’ and she also said that bruises were ‘already coming up like I’d been attacked.’ After the shoot, Waddingham also says that she had gotten some claustrophobia around water, and would start to get panic attacks when she saw characters onscreen going into water.

We don’t know if there’s anything the Game of Thrones producers can do about it now besides an apology and promise to do better, but fans are definitely showing their outrage online for how poorly Waddingham was treated.

Though her Game of Thrones days may be behind her, you can catch Waddingham in Apple TV’s ted Lasso or Netflix’s Sex Education where (hopefully) she isn’t being asked to do some surprise torture scenes.
