Check the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine out:

Though we know that Wade gets hired by the TVA to be ‘Marvel Jesus’, we also get a bit of background on this version of Logan. It does look like this Wolverine is the reason his world is dead and him teaming up with Deadpool will be his redemption arc.

Besides a lot of Logan, we also get a look at Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), who looks to be the main villain of the series. In the comics, Nova is Professor X’s ‘dark twin’ who Xavier tried to kill while they were in the womb together—no, seriously.

It looks like Nova is the one who runs this 20^th Century Fox Marvel wasteland, and we get to see some discarded characters from early X-Men films including Lady Deathstrike (X-Men 2), Azazel (X-Men: First Class), and Callisto (X-Men: The Last Stand). Even when Nova is instroduced, we see her getting off of what some assume is Charles Xavier’s wheelchair.

Of course, we should also expect some references to non-Fox properties in Deadpool &  Wolverine. We get to see Alioth, the cloud monster at the end of time from Loki; and Nova’s base of operations looks to be the dead body of Giant/Ant-Man—something right out of Old Man Logan.

So far, a very obscure cameo-fest looks to be happening, but I am hoping that director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds have a meaningful story in mind for Deadpool’s jump into the MCU. I’m just honestly hoping this doesn’t mean 10 more years of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine because I would love for someone else to finally take on the role.

Just in, some merch has come out revealing the members of the Deadpool Corps.—several variants of Deadpool from across the Multiverse including Dogpool, Headpool, Kidpool, and Babypool (albeit some glare is blocking him). Based on what we know from the trailer, Deadpool will be hired by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) for some kind of mission. We don’t know exactly what they want him to do—or how Wolverine factors into this—but we are expecting a nostalgic romp of everything Marvel pre-MCU including characters from the original X-Men films as well as the spinoffs like Daredevil, Elektra, and Fantastic Four.

With a release set for July, we may have to wait t abit more until we get a new trailer. With promos usually being released 4 months and 2 months before, it’s possible we could get a full official trailer with Hugh Jackman and the Deadpool Corps. Sometime before the month ends.

Admittedly, the MCU is not riding as high as it was before, but hopefully Deadpool & Wolverine will manage to bring the hype back to this franchise.

As confirmed, the plot  for Deadpool & Wolverine does have something to do with Wade being assigned by the TVA (Time Variance Authority) as one of their agents, but it’s unclear what mission he’ll be going on. We know that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is going to be part of the film, but a surprising reveal was Aaron Stanford who had played the part of Pyro in the original X movies alongside Jackman.

Based on the rumors that have been coming out, Pyro is only one of several other Marvel Fox characters that are expected to make an appearance. Jennifer Garner is rumored to be reprising the role of Elektra, and it’s rumored that the film will even go as so far to have someone from the original Fantastic Four movies appear.

For what is being expected to be a cameo fest, the teaser actually had a lot of restraint when it came to revealing Wolverine. We don’t know when he’ll be a main part of the trailer, but hopefully Marvel doesn’t blow all the big cameos in the marketing like what Sony has done with the MCU Spider-Man movies.

I just hope they address why Julian Dennison’s Firefist isn’t in the film, because they spent so much of the last movie establishing Wade as his adoptive father. Also, where is Domino???

Catch Deadpool & Wolverine when they cut their way into theaters on July 26.

What’s interesting is, Matthew Vaughn, the director behind X-Men: First Class and the Kingsman franchise, thinks that the upcoming Deadpool movie from Shawn Levy is going to be the very project that will restore a bit of fire to the MCU. Talking to BroBible.com, Vaughn shares:

“The few snippets that I know about Deadpool vs. Wolverine — or Wolverine vs. Deadpool, I’m sure that argument between Ryan and Hugh is happening as we speak — are unbelievable. That’s going to be the jolt… the Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them and it’s going to bring that body back to life. I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe.”

We don’t know exactly what to expect with Deadpool 3, but it is rumored that the movie will neatly close the Marvel Fox cinematic universe after the disappointing reception of X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Not only are we expecting to see Hugh Jackman come back as Logan, but the movie is also said to be bringing back pre-MCU Marvel characters like Elektra (Jennifer Garner) and maybe someone from the first Fantastic Four movies (fingers crossed for Chris Evans’ Human Torch returning).

With the film having had to delay shooting thanks to the SAG-AFTRA Strike, everyone is hopeful that Deadpool 3 will manage to make its July deadline this year. Hopefully we get a trailer soon.

It’s not clear whether it was intentional or not, but the post definitely harkens back to a gag from the first film where Deadpool wears red so people can’t see him bleed:

With this movie being a third of a trilogy, a lot of fans think that this could mean the end of something, but everyone is still expecting Ryan Reynolds to stick around and crossover with some other MCU heroes before officially leaving the part. A lot of people are hoping for a Spider-Man team-up with Tom Holland at some point, but we don’t know if Sony would be ballsy enough to release a Spidey film that isn’t multiverse-centric anymore.

As for the Deadpool continuity, some think this will be Marvel’s way of officially sending off the 20^th Century Fox timeline. After all the flak that Dark Phoenix received, it would be great if the film managed put an official close to the Marvel timeline that came before.

We don’t know when we’ll get our first look at the movie, but with production wrapped, fingers crossed we get something next month.

We don’t know when the next official reveal for Deadpool 3 is going to be, but rumor has it that Wolverine is brought back as a recruit for a multiversal army that the TVA is going to be assembling; and it’s going to contain the prime versions of every Marvel hero.

Fans will know that Jackman’s Wolverine dies in Logan, but it’s said that the film will actually address this, and the Logan that we’re following in this movie is a variant that comes from a universe where the X-Men are all wearing comic-accurate costumes.

Besides Logan, there have also been Deadpool variants spotted on set. We know that Dogpool is going to be part of the film, but Reynolds has also been spotted with a long wig in a top-knot—possibly a Wade Wilson that has the mutant powers, but never had to undergo the procedure that permanently deformed him.

The movie is also said to be including appearances from other non-MCU heroes like Jennifer Garner’s Elektra as well as other vets from the older X-Men films including Halle Berry (Storm) and James Marsden (Cyclops).

Then again, those are just rumors, so we’ll just have to wait and see until the film releases to find out who really shows up.

Fingers crossed we get Chris Evans returning as the Human Torch. He already did that Free Guy cameo, so what’s one more small cameo in a Ryan Reynolds project?

Though this has boosted some interest in the film, Ryan Reynolds himself has decided to release a statement, urging websites and social channels to hold back on sharing some set photos. Here’s what he posted:

Even though Reynolds and company do consider the spoilers online an issue, he does say that it is a ‘good problem’ to have. He explains, “Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the ‘good problems’ bucket. I love making this movie.”

So far, the biggest reveal that the movie has officially shared is that Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine, and he’ll be donning the yellow spandex from the comics. Reynolds has also shown a photo of himself as Wade Wilson with the Deadpool variant Dogpool (who has a ridiculously long tongue):

As for set spoilers, I don’t want to get into it, but people have spotted character(s) from the original Fox Marvel properties. That’s as specific I’m willing to go. Hopefully we get to see other, never-before-seen variants show up in the film. Not everything can run on nostalgia.

Just in case you don’t know who that is, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is taking on Sabretooth who was originally played by Tyler Mane in Singer’s film.

Though the character does look like Mane’s version, a lot of fans are hoping that the actor in costume is actually Liev Schreiber, who played Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. There’s even a shot of Deadpool holding Sabretooth’s severed head, and this harkens back to that line where Logan threatens to cut off his head in order to make sure Sabretooth’s healing factor won’t save him.

Interestingly enough, Schreiber was considered to return as Victor Creed in Logan, but that scene ultimately didn’t make it to the film.

We don’t know exactly where the story wants to go, but this is considered to be the swan song for Fox’s X-Men timeline, so it would make sense that they would go all the way back to the very first X-movie.

Deadpool 3 is set to come out July 26, 2024.

Though Dogpool is essentially male in the comics, it does look like the dog they got for the film is a girl; so to avoid any misgendering, I’ll just go with the neutral they/them for Dogpool.

In the comics, Dogpool was originally a dog named Wilson that was experimented on by a make-up company in the hopes that he would help create a product that could give people eternal youth. After his body was disregarded, he was discovered by a circus that used his healing ability to turn him into a performer named “Deadpool, the Daredevil Dog”. Eventually Dogpool was recruited into the Deadpool Corps. which was a collection of variant Deadpools that were brought together to face a growing threat.

We don’t know exactly what Dogpool’s role in the movie will be, but seeing as the film is supposed to have Wade dealing with the TVA, it’s possible that Dogpool could be one of the DP variants that they have in custody. Either that, or maybe Wade just runs into the dog and decides to keep them around for the fun of it.

Either way, I think Dogpool looks great, and they can be pretty cute despite looking like the dog version of Wade Wilson sans mask.

The official description reads:

An English aristocrat, Lady Sarah Ashley (Kidman) who travels halfway across the world to confront her wayward husband and sell an unusual asset: a million-acre cattle ranch in the Australian Outback called ‘Faraway Downs’. Following the death of her husband, a ruthless Australian cattle baron, King Carney, plots to take her land and she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn cattle drover (Jackman) to protect her ranch.

The sweeping adventure romance is explored through the eyes of young Nullah, a bi-racial Indigenous Australian child caught up in the government’s draconian racial policy now referred to as the “Stolen Generations.” Together the trio experiences four life-altering years, a love affair between Lady Ashley and the Drover, and the unavoidable impact of World War II on Northern Australia.

The series essentially takes Luhrmann’s almost 3-hour film and spreads it across six episodes. We don’t know if there was any new footage that was added to the film, but at almost three hours, you can expect the movie to have a lot of extra shots as well as some deleted scenes.

With 2008 being the year where a lot of great films came out from Iron Man and The Dark Knight to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, you can imagine that Australia definitely had a lot of competition when it came out that year.

Luhrmann was already said to have trouble getting the movie over the finish line when it released, but even if Australia didn’t manage to captivate audiences then, maybe 2023 audiences will be more forgiving with a miniseries.

Faraway Downs release on Disney+ on Nov. 26.

According to @MyTimeToShineH, the TVA will be rounding up the ‘Prime’ versions of heroes across the Marvel multiverse to gather them for an army against Kang. Here’s the post:

We don’t know if this is official yet, but it does line up with rumors that the movie will contain multiple versions of the same hero; one Wolverine variant is said to be played by none other than ‘short king’ Daniel Radcliffe. The film is also rumored to bring back Jennifer Garner’s Elektra and maybe someone from the Fox version of Fantastic Four.

New cast members for the film include Matthew Macfadyen (Succession) and Emma Corrin (The Crown). It’s unclear who they could be playing in the film, but Macfadyen is expected to be someone from the TVA, and some are guessing that Corrin could be Gwen Poole a.k.a. Gwenpool, a character from the comics who has the same 4^th-wall-breaking ability that Wade does, except that she can use this to actually alter the story—much like what She-Hulk does in her Disney+ show.

For now, fans are just left to speculate, and with the SAG AFTRA Strike currently ongoing, we might have to wait even longer for Deadpool 3 to finally release in theaters. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Of course, this is just a rumor for now, but with all the cameos expected to appear in Deadpool 3 from Jennifer Garner’s Elektra to Channing Tatum’s Gambit, an appearance from Grammer as Beast won’t be so farfetched; after all, he does have an interesting dynamic with Wolverine, what with both of them being referred to as ‘animals,’ only this time, Beast is arguably the ‘calmer’ one.

The Last Stand isn’t even the final time that Grammer played the role. He also has a short appearance in X-Men: Days of Future Past, where Logan wakes up in the end to find all of his friends alive:

Personally, I thought Grammer also nailed the role, and while The Last Stand wasn’t perfect, the part of Beast was definitely well cast, and it was great to see Hank McCoy play a more diplomatic role in the film as compared to all the other X-Men who are stuck to just doing fight scenes.

Grammer may not be officially confirmed yet, but Deadpool 3 is hoping for a release next year.

A lot of fans have been guessing that Swift is going to be playing the mutant Dazzler in the film, and Levy himself has been asked to comment about the rumors on Swift making a cameo. Talking to The Wrap, Levy says, “I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”

Though Swift is mostly known for her music, she does do the occasional appearance in films, like the Cats musical as well as her short appearance in Amsterdam which is arguably the best way to kill a person onscreen:

Seeing that their scoops have ended up being hit and miss lately, we should also take this rumor with a grain of salt. After all, plans could change. Deadpool 3 is currently looking at a huge delay thanks to the SAG-AFTRA strike, and who’s to say Swift or anyone else in the cast could get into some kind of public tiff that could have studio heads demand the re-editing of the film—just look at what happened to Ansel Elgort around the release of West Side Story.

For now rumors are rumors, but fans are hoping they get an update on DP3 soon.

Since the strike’s purpose was essentially to put a halt on several projects, it looks like Marvel’s Deadpool 3 is also in jeopardy. Talking to The Wrap, director Shawn Levy says that the strike is likely to cause a huge delay in the release of the film—which is set to come out in May 2024. Levy explains:

“I wish I knew. I don’t even know if we officially have [a release date]. I know we were gonna be May 3… Certainly, the actors’ strike and the long pause in production have put that release date in true risk. We’ve shot half the movie. I’ve edited half the movie. We’re dying to get back to work and get this movie out next year.”

With the WGA Strike having just recently ended last September, a lot of people thought that the SAG Strike would be nearing its end as well. As it turns out, the AMPTP had allegedly walked off the table with an offer lower than what they had before the strike, and they were said to be using some legal loopholes to get actors to consent to the use of their image without them intending to.

As for Deadpool 3, some fans were considering this movie to be the sendoff to the Fox universe of Marvel films; besides Hugh Jackman, the film was also said to be bringing back some versions of Fox heroes from films like Fantastic Four and even Daredevil.

Then again, fans had burned themselves with expectations before with Multiverse of Madness, so we’ll just have to wait and see how the movie turns out.

Hopefully the SAG Strikes will end soon. Just give actors a fair deal, AMPTP!

Dazzler was a comic character introduced back in the 80s, and was a mutant that could turn sound vibrations into light and energy beams. She is considered by some to be an LGBT icon, and she made her live-action debut in the poorly received Dark Phoenix movie with Sophie Turner (who is currently hanging out with Swift).

Of course, nothing official has been confirmed about Swift’s appearance in Deadpool, but you can’t blame the fans for wanting her in the part. Swift has been known to take the occasional acting role, and a character like Dazzler is someone who probably won’t have to appear that much onscreen yet still have a presence—kind of like Shakira’s Gazelle in Zootopia.

Production may be halted due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, but with negotiations underway, things should start kicking up again for Deadpool 3. Catch the film in theaters on May 3, 2024.

Though Jackman is pretty much beloved in the Wolverine role, a lot of fans (specifically comic fans) have felt that the films have a tendency to focus on him too much and make everyone else a supporting character. By not having Logan appear in the first film, there would be a lot of room to develop other X-Men including originals like Cyclops and Jean Grey.

If anything, movies like X-Men: First Class have proven that an X-film can work without having heavy involvement from Logan. As long as we have a solid core group of X-Men with the strong themes of discrimination at the core, I’m sure Marvel Studios will find a way to reboot the franchise for the current generation of audience members.

I’m just here curious on whether they can still make Magneto a holocaust survivor, because he would have to be really old by the time the film comes out.

No release date has been set for the new X-Men, but rumors suggest it could come out after Avengers: Secret Wars which releases in 2026.

Seeing as I’m in the camp that they should find someone else to play Wolverine, I’m hoping that the rumor only turns out to be partly true. Though I wouldn’t want to see Jackman play the part for 10 more years, I am intrigued at the film looking at several different versions of the character—with one possibly being played by Daniel Radcliffe.

With Deadpool’s meta nature, fans are theorizing that the film will have DP dealing with the collapsing 20^th Century Fox universe and tackling all the other non-MCU heroes that have come before Iron Man in 2008—and that includes properties like Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, Blade, Daredevil, and of course—X-Men. Maybe we can even get some jokes about the X-Force film that never happened or the cancelled Gambit project that Channing Tatum was so eager to move forward with.

For now, the WGA Strike and SAG AFTRA Strike have led to production grinding to a halt, but fans are hopeful that negotiations will end soon and the film could still come out in 2024.

According to insider Daniel RPK (via @DeadpoolUpdate), the former boy wizard has been cast in a ‘secret role’ in the upcoming Deadpool 3. No details have been released about Radcliffe’s casting, but a lot of fans are almost sure that he’s going to play a variant of Wolverine.

Though Hugh Jackman is considered to be perfectly cast as the live-action Logan, comic book and cartoon fans have been very nitpicky with the characterization. Never mind that Logan has become a main character of the franchise, but he’s also supposed to be rather short and gruff compared to the hunky, 6-foot-tall Jackman.

Since Radcliffe is also known for his stature, fans have been fancasting him for years as the MCU’s new Wolverine. Sure his voice may not be as gruff as what’s expected for a character like Logan, but it’s very possible that he could get some kind of voice acting lessons to pull it off.

For now, production for Deadpool 3 is said to have come to a halt because of the WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes, but with enough enthusiasm from everyone involved, fans are hoping that Deadpool 3 manages to come out the other end of the strike with a solid film and a great introduction of the Merc with the Mouth to the MCU.

As per insider Daniel Richtman (via ComicBookMovie), Schreiber is set to reprise the role of Wolverine’s estranged brother in Deadpool 3. Of course, nothing official has been confirmed, but with the movie said to be bringing back old versions of characters (like Jennifer Garner’s Elektra), a cameo from Schreiber would make a lot of sense.

Though fans were introduced to Sabretooth in Bryan Singer’s X-Men with a savage bruiser, Origins had rewritten the character to be Logan’s half-brother who had the same healing factor and feral attitude. Not only was Schreiber’s Sabretooth smarter, but he was also the one calling the shots between himself and Logan (then known as Jimmy Howlett).

Going back to Deadpool 3 though, fans consider this one final return for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, seeing that they didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to have him share a screen with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. Maybe an appearance from Sabretooth would be great—and while they’re at it, they should bring back some other favorites from that universe to make a cameo like James Marsden (Cyclops) or Anna Paquin (Rogue). I wouldn’t even mind Famke Famke Janssen (Jean Grey) making a return.

One new cast member is Emma Corrin (The Crown), who still has an undisclosed role, but in a recent interview with Empire, she confirms that she’s playing a villain. She says, “I feel really excited to play a villain…  haven’t done that, and it’s an itch I want to scratch.”

No details have been released on who Corrin could be playing, but some fans online have been throwing up several different characters including X-Men’s Spiral. Personally, I was suspecting that she was playing Gwen Poole a.k.a. Gwenpool, a character who also had Deadpool’s meta self-awareness. Though that Gwen is no doubt a ‘good guy’ in the comics, she does have an ‘Evil’ alternate version of herself that is able to take her meta-awareness to the next level and actually alter reality—perfect for a character like Deadpool and Wolverine who can’t be defeated physically.

In the same interview, Corrin does admit that she isn’t ‘a Marvel person,’ but she is very eager to be part of the Deadpool franchise. She says, “It’s a phenomenon, and I feel really lucky to be part of it. Especially Deadpool, because I love the fact that it’s self-aware, and critical of its own inner-workings.”

We don’t know when the film would be ready to give us a look at Corrin’s character officially, but Deadpool 3 is aiming for a release on Nov. 8, 2024. Let’s hope the SAG AFTRA and WGA Strike don’t push it back too far.
