Just in, we have a new featurette showcasing the series’ star-studded cast which includes Adam Pally (Happy Endings), Scott Mescudi (X), Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Stockard Channing (Grease), Cary Elwes (Stranger Things), and Rory McCann (Game of Thrones). Check this out:

Besides Idris Elba returning to voice Knuckles, we also see that Sonic has his own appearance in the series. We don’t know how large his role is going to be though, but Ben Schwartz is also expected to reprise the role for at least one episode. Tails is also expected to make an appearance as well.

With the Sonic films gearing up for the clash between Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehog, it’s very likely that side characters like Knuckles and Tails won’t have such extensive arcs. That being said, I do hope that Shadow’s arc won’t just be a repeat of Knuckles’ where he’s first recruited by the villain to fight Sonic, then they eventually become friends.

Going back to Knuckles though, the series is said to run for six episodes, which should be enough for a whole arc. I’m just hoping that they don’t skimp on the CG quality and just have episodes mostly focused on the human characters. It’s a bonus if they’ll be able to drop some teases for what we can expect in the third Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

Knuckles comes to Paramount+ on April 26.

A Dog and a Robot Become Best Friends in Animated Trailer for NEON’s Robot Dreams https://www.geekfeed.com/animated-trailer-for-neons-robot-dreams/ Fri, 26 Apr 2024 09:48:30 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82096 Studio NEON has been known mostly for its dark and disturbing films, but the studio is going a different direction with their upcoming film Robot Dreams. The animated movie is set to come out this summer, and we have a new trailer to hype up the release.

Check this out:

The official description reads:

Dog lives in Manhattan and he’s tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot, a companion. Their friendship blossoms, until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of 80’s NYC. One summer night, DOG, with great sadness, is forced to abandon ROBOT at the beach.

Will they ever meet again?

Just from watching the trailer, you can kind of get some BoJack Horseman vibes off the movie, but the animation is clearly more dynamic and fluid. Like the trailer also suggests, early reviews for the movie have been great, and with NEON’s reputation with movies, it’s possible this could be a more adult-oriented picture.

With Disney, DreamWorks, and all the other big animated studios stepping away from 2D animation, it’s  considered pretty balls-y for Robot Dreams to go for the theatrical release. Who knows, maybe some people will be willing to give this film a shot, but so far, it does feel like the marketing is a bit on the soft side.

Maybe we’ll get to see more of this pop up on the news feed when May comes around next week. Catch Robot Dreams when it hits theaters on May 31.

Grievous Takes On the Nightsisters in Clip from Star Wars: Tales of the Empire https://www.geekfeed.com/grievous-takes-on-the-nightsisters-in-clip-from-star-wars-tales-of-the-empire/ Thu, 25 Apr 2024 07:00:19 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82134 General Grievous has been an all-time fan-favorite character since he was introduced in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, but he’s since had any new stories since he died around the end of the Clone Wars. With Disney+ gearing up for the release of their anthology series Star Wars: Tales of the Empire, they’ve released a new clip that has Grievous taking on another faction of Force users known as the Nightsisters.

Check this out:

Though Grievous does look to be the main highlight of the clip, this is expected to be part of the backstory of Morgan Elsbeth, the Nightsister played by Diana Lee Inosanto in the Ahsoka series. In Tales of Empire, we’re expected to see the fall of the Nightsisters by the hands of the Empire and how Elsbeth finds herself working for Thrawn when we meet her in The Mandalorian.

Going back to Grievous though, this Jedi hunter pretty much had his backstory fleshed out in The Clone Wars, but a lot of fans have said that he hasn’t been as ruthless as he was when we first saw him in the original animated Clone Wars from Genndy Tartakovsky. Hopefully with Tales, we get to see him back as a ruthless killer, rather than the moustache-twirling coward we met in Revenge of the Sith (who still looks pretty cool regardless).

Catch Star Wars: Tales of the Empire when it premieres on Disney+ on Star Wars Day, May 4.

Check Out Gag Reel for Moon Knight https://www.geekfeed.com/check-out-gag-reel-for-moon-knight-here/ Thu, 25 Apr 2024 05:06:15 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82093 Moon Knight released back in 2022, and ever since we haven’t gotten any update on the world of Marc Spector. Disney did release the Blu-Ray for the series though, and that comes with an extra feature in the form of a gag reel.

Check this out:

Though there has been a decline in physical media since the rise of streaming, there are still some fans who have been demanding that some shows get physical releases—specifically Marvel and Star Wars series that released straight on Disney+.

Besides the novelty of collecting, there has also been a rising concern with the recent moves of characters like WB Discovery head David Zaslav who has been opting to delete IP on the HBO platform for tax write offs. Even some creators online have been encouraging fans to pirate their material because there will be no other way to view them legally.

In a now-deleted post from Over the Garden Wall creator Patrick McHale, he writes, “I hope somebody is out there ripping & saving all the stuff on streaming services because I’m pretty sure so much of it s gonna just disappear and become lost media.”

As for Moon Knight, the property was considered unique when it came out, but there hasn’t been any updates on the character or what Disney wants to do with the IP. Will Oscar Isaac even be willing to come back to reprise the role? We’ll just have to wait and see.

For now, you can check out Moon Knight now streaming on Disney+.

Listen to the Official Voice of Foghorn Leghorn Read Memes of Him Rambling at Anime Characters https://www.geekfeed.com/foghorn-leghorn-read-memes-rambling-at-anime/ Wed, 24 Apr 2024 11:05:35 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82089 WB Pictures may not think that a Looney Tunes movie may do well in the box office with them shelving Coyote vs. Acme, but the internet has recently proven that these characters are still pretty relevant today.

A recent meme that’s been popping up is one that has Foghorn Leghorn rambling at anime characters, and everyone has been having a blast. Check out some of these posts:

The meme has gotten so viral that it eventually got the attention of official Looney Tunes actor Eric Bauza; and he’s decided to post some videos of himself recording some of the memes that have been going around.

Here’s Foghorn rambling at Goku and Vegeta:

And here’s him giving Frieren a stern talking to:

For context, Foghorn Leghorn is supposed to be a parody of Southern politicians from the US, and he’s said to be directly influenced by 1940 radio character Senator Claghorn. Besides his iconic Southern drawl, Leghorn is also known for the heavy use of the word ‘boy’ and it’s usually included in the phrase, “boy, I say boy…”.

When it comes to viral internet memes, we don’t really know what kind of trend will come around next; and that’s the real beauty of the medium. It will probably stick around for a couple of weeks, as per the meme lifecycle, but for now, people are just enjoying the meshing of the two genres that are Looney Tunes and anime.

I’ll tell you what, it’s not as insufferable as the “Look between X and Y on your keyboard” meme.

Amazon Renews Fallout for a Second Season https://www.geekfeed.com/amazon-renews-fallout-for-a-second-season/ Wed, 24 Apr 2024 11:01:35 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82085 When it was announced that Amazon’ Fallout would have its whole season released on day one, a lot of fans thought that this was a sign that the network had no faith in the project, but lo and behold, Fallout is a critical hit, and it’s resulted in the massive uptick in sales for Fallout 4 the game.

Not to keep fans holding their breath for too long, Amazon has now announced that a second season of the series has been greenlit. Here’s the official post:

We don’t have an official synopsis for the second season yet, but the finale did leave us with enough breadcrumbs to find out exactly where we could be going.

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR FALLOUT SEASON ONE

For one, we get to see Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) teaming up to go after the Vault-Tec heads , with the Ghoul hoping that he can find his family. We also see that Maximus (Aaron Moten) has been marked a hero by the Brotherhood of Steel and we should expect him to have had a huge promotion by Season 2.

We also get to see in Vault 33 that Lucy’s brother Norm had found himself trapped in Vault 31 with the cryogenically frozen bodies of the Vault-Tec VIPs a.k.a. Bud’s Buds. Norm was given the choice to freeze himself or starve, but his decision is left for the audience to imagine until the next season.

As for Lucy’s dad, we also see him making his way to New Vegas, which Fallout players know also has its own factions of survivors.

If anything, the show has been lauded as a great introduction into the Wasteland, and we have a fantastic trio of leads. We don’t know how far Jonathan Nolan plans to have the show run, and after the cancellation of Westworld, I’m just happy he gets to play in a different sci-fi sandbox.

No release date has been announced for Fallout Season 2, but you can catch the fantastic first season now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Breaking Bad: Anna Gunn Says Fans have Changed Their Tune about Skyler https://www.geekfeed.com/breaking-bad-fans-thoughts-about-skyler/ Wed, 24 Apr 2024 10:58:21 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82081 Breaking Bad may have ended back in 2013, but it’s still considered one of the best TV dramas of all time today. If you were watching the show around the time it was coming out, you’ll know that there was a lot of vitriol aimed at Anna Gunn’s Skyler White (yo!), who spent a huge chunk of the show just going up against the protagonist Walt (Bryan Cranston).

Though a lot of fans had hated Skyler with a passion Gunn says that the tune has very much changed over time. Promoting her upcoming show Sugar with Colin Farrell, Gunn tells THR that people have come up to her saying that they have a new view on Skyler after all these years. Gunn explains:

“Now, when people come up to me, it’s incredibly different … There’s still a long way to go, but we have made seismic changes since then… So people come up to me now and say, ‘You were the linchpin for me. You were the conscience of the show. You were what pulled me into the show.’ Or they say, ‘The first time I watched it, I hated that character. But the second time I watched it, I realized, ‘Oh my God, that poor woman.’”

Funnily enough, the opposite can be said for Walt. Though the first viewing has everyone actively rooting for him despite his heinous acts, fans have said that the second viewing makes them more frustrated at Walt as he constantly keeps sabotaging himself in order to get deeper into the game.

Personally, I thought it was kind of a bummer that we didn’t get to see Gunn make a cameo in Better Call Saul, but I’m happy to see her in something else besides Breaking Bad. Hopefully she finds a role as meaty as Skyler in the future.

Check out Sugar now streaming on Apple TV+.

Zack Snyder’s Animated Norse Mythology Series Twilight of the Gods Set for Fall Release https://www.geekfeed.com/norse-mythology-twilight-of-the-gods-release/ Wed, 24 Apr 2024 10:44:09 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82078 Rebel Moon isn’t the only franchise Zack Snyder is working on with Netflix. After the release of the second part of his movie franchise, we got an update on another Snyder project that may as well be his version of God of War called Twilight of the Gods.

What’s On Netflix reports that Snyder’s animated series project Twilight of the Gods, is expecting to come out this fall. We don’t have much details on the actual plot, but it will be Snyder’s take on Norse mythology, including characters like Thor, Hel, Loki and Odin. Snyder had described the plot back in 2023:

“There’s a king and his queen in a small Viking village, and they want to get married. An event happens to them at their wedding that causes Sigrid, who is the bride to be, who is the child of giants, to go on a crazy mission of revenge. She enlists a cast of characters – a seer, a dwarf – and they come together to form a band that has this one mission to find a god and fight him. It’s a mission, it’s a revenge story.”

The Twilight of the Gods series actually boasts a star-studded cast which includes the likes of Rahul Kohli (Midnight Mass), John Noble (LOTR: Return of the King), Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead), Jamie Chung (Big Hero 6), and Game of Thrones alum including Piloy Asbæk and Kristofer Hivju.

  • Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049, The Girl in the Spider’s Web) as SIGRID
  • Stuart Martin (Jamestown, Babylon) as LEIF
  • Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones, Ghost in the Shell) as THOR
  • John Noble (Fringe, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King) as ODIN
  • Paterson Joseph (Peep Show, The Leftovers) as LOKI
  • Rahul Kohli (iZombie, The Haunting of Bly Manor) as EGILL
  • Jamie Clayton (Sense8, The L Word: Generation Q) as THE SEID-KONA
  • Kristopher Hivju (Game of Thrones, The Witcher) as ANDVARI
  • Peter Stormare (Fargo, Prison Break) as ULFR
  • Jamie Chung (The Hangover Part II, Once Upon a Time) as HEL
  • Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) as INGE
  • Corey Stoll (House of Cards, Ant-Man) as HRAFNKEL

Attached to the Twilight of the Gods as co-creators are also Jay Olivia (The Dark Knight Returns, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox) and Eric Carrasco (Supergirl, Foundation). Snyder’s producing partner Deborah Snyder is also attached to the series.

We’re expected to get a first look at this show this coming June at the Annency Festival. We’ll probably get the release date by then as well.

Though Snyder’s Rebel Moon may not be the critical hit people expected, he is still an auteur director with a huge fanbase, and everyone wants to see what he does next.

No specific release date has been set for Twilight of the Gods yet, but you can catch Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver now streaming on Netflix.

The Claws Come Out in Full Trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine https://www.geekfeed.com/full-trailer-for-deadpool-wolverine-released/ Wed, 24 Apr 2024 10:30:22 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82066 Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine was only teased in the first preview for Deadpool & Wolverine, but now we get to see him back at it with the latest trailer for the movie.

Check the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine out:

Though we know that Wade gets hired by the TVA to be ‘Marvel Jesus’, we also get a bit of background on this version of Logan. It does look like this Wolverine is the reason his world is dead and him teaming up with Deadpool will be his redemption arc.

Besides a lot of Logan, we also get a look at Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), who looks to be the main villain of the series. In the comics, Nova is Professor X’s ‘dark twin’ who Xavier tried to kill while they were in the womb together—no, seriously.

It looks like Nova is the one who runs this 20th Century Fox Marvel wasteland, and we get to see some discarded characters from early X-Men films including Lady Deathstrike (X-Men 2), Azazel (X-Men: First Class), and Callisto (X-Men: The Last Stand). Even when Nova is instroduced, we see her getting off of what some assume is Charles Xavier’s wheelchair.

Of course, we should also expect some references to non-Fox properties in Deadpool &  Wolverine. We get to see Alioth, the cloud monster at the end of time from Loki; and Nova’s base of operations looks to be the dead body of Giant/Ant-Man—something right out of Old Man Logan.

So far, a very obscure cameo-fest looks to be happening, but I am hoping that director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds have a meaningful story in mind for Deadpool’s jump into the MCU. I’m just honestly hoping this doesn’t mean 10 more years of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine because I would love for someone else to finally take on the role.

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to come into theaters on July 26.

The Adult Scooby-Doo Series Returns with Trailer for Velma Season 2 https://www.geekfeed.com/scooby-doo-series-returns-with-velma-season-2/ Thu, 18 Apr 2024 10:06:43 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82053 Scooby-Doo is a property that’s been revamped time and again, but Max had decided to put a fun spin on Mystery Inc. with the adult-oriented Velma starring Mindy Kaling. The show is now going into its second season, and we have a trailer showcasing some more murder/mystery comedy and some traditional love triangle romance.

Check this out:

The official synopsis for the season reads:

“When an even spookier mystery grips Crystal Cove, Velma must find a way to balance her detective work with the demands of her newfound popularity before it’s too late. Meanwhile, her faithful friends Daphne, Norville, and Fred are powerless to help thanks to their own personal battles and worse… Detention.”

Unlike previous takes on Scooby, Velma decides to go all in with the craziness, even giving Velma herself some more character besides being the ‘smart one’ of the gang. Besides her, each of the other Mystery Inc. members have been given more colourful (albeit selfish) personalities.

Admittedly, the show was widely reviled by the online community when it first came out, but if Star Wars or any other huge fandom has taught us anything, it’s that the online vitriol doesn’t really reflect the actual number or views—just like how critical praise doesn’t really save a series that no one watches (sorry Netflix’s GLOW).

Either way, I’m rooting for Velma to do what it set out to do. It essentially feels like the cartoon Harley Quinn series without any of the familiar comic book characters. Maybe you can even spin it as a wackier version of Riverdale.

Velma Season 2 returns to Max on April 25.

Netflix Drops Final Trailer for Sweet Tooth https://www.geekfeed.com/netflix-drops-final-trailer-for-sweet-tooth/ Thu, 18 Apr 2024 09:59:20 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82043 Robert Downey Jr. may not have been able to kick off a kid-friendly franchise with Dolittle, but he was able to go the family-friendly adventure route with his series Sweet Tooth.

The series is now gearing up for the release of the final season, and we have a new teaser. Check this out:

Here’s the synopsis for the third season (as per Bloody Disgusting):

“Having defeated General Abbot in the battle at Pubba’s Cabin, Gus (Christian Convery), Jepperd (Nonso Anozie), Becky (Stefania LaVie Owen), and Wendy (Naledi Murray) embark on a journey to Alaska in search of Gus’s mother, Birdie (Amy Seimetz), who has been working to uncover the mysterious origins of the deadly Sick. Along the way, they are joined by Dr. Singh (Adeel Akhtar), who may have his own dangerous beliefs about Gus and his role in reversing the virus. Meanwhile, a new threat emerges in the form of Helen Zhang (Rosalind Chao), her daughter Rosie (Kelly Marie Tran), and the ferocious Wolf Boys, who seek to restart human birth and view Gus as the solution to their plans.

“As they navigate through perilous terrain, Gus and his group of friends find refuge at the Outpost in Alaska, where they meet a new ensemble of characters including Siana (Cara Gee) and her hybrid daughter Nuka (Ayazhan Dalabayeva). With the clock to find answers running out, alliances are tested and destinies intertwine, all leading to a thrilling climax that will determine the fate of humanity and hybrids.”

3 Body Problem fans will immediately ecorgnize Rosaline Chao who will be playing a new threat for Gus and friends; add on top of that Kelly Marie Tran, who is best known for playing Rose in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Lucasfilm may have sidelined her in The Rise of Skywalker, but I’m honestly just happy to see Tran acting in something else.

Admittedly Sweet Tooth wasn’t able to get the same kind of mass appeal as Stranger Things or Squid Game, but the show does look fantastic, and it does have very interesting lore with the hybrids and the Sick.

I guess a lot of people were just weary when this show launched since it did show a global pandemic, and this released around the time COVID was still pretty much a threat.

Hopefully Sweet Tooth manages to end with a bang.

The final season of Sweet Tooth comes to Netflix on June 6.

Quentin Tarantino Shelves ‘The Movie Critic’ to Rethink His 10th and Final Movie https://www.geekfeed.com/quentin-tarantino-shelves-the-movie-critic/ Thu, 18 Apr 2024 09:56:40 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82039 Quentin Tarantino’s brand of films may be irreverant and raunchy, but he can be a bit of a stickler when it comes to his projects. Tarantino has been known to say that he’s only going to direct a total of 10 films for his filmography, and it looked like he was set with something he called The Movie Critic for a while; now it looks like he’s going back to the drawing board.

According to Deadline, Tarantino has decided to drop The Movie Critic as his 10th and final film, and is going to be looking to do something else. We don’t know much about the movie, but it has been revealed that Brad Pitt was expected to return as a star—THR even says that he was going to reprise the role of Cliff Booth from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Tarantino is no doubt a respected filmmaker on the same level as Martin Scorsese, but he has been criticized for putting a lot of pressure on this ‘final movie’ of his. It was said that wanting to only have ten films is the reason he dropped out of making a Star Trek picture, and now it’s the reason why he isn’t making The Movie Critic.

Who knows, Tarantino has had a change of heart several times before. He was even supposed to not go forward with Hateful Eight when the script had leaked earlier—and we all know how that went down.

So is Tarantino going to only make ten films? Maybe he should be like Spielberg and start producing some projects with some younger directors? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Aaron Paul Could Get Cast in Fallout Season 2 (If It Gets Greenlit) https://www.geekfeed.com/aaron-paul-could-get-cast-in-fallout-season-2/ Thu, 18 Apr 2024 09:52:10 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82035 It may not have looked like Amazon had a lot of faith in the Fallout adaptation when they released the whole season at once, but everyone has been gushing about the show online and is making comparisons with HBO’s The Last of Us.

It’s not clear if we’re going to get a second season yet, but director Jonathan Nolan already knows who he could bring onboard for Fallout Season 2. In an interview with IGN, Nolan was asked on which celebrities would want to be on the show, and Nolan confirms that Westworld star Aaron Paul might want in. He says:

Aaron Paul. Yeah, Aaron Paul was at the premiere, a human being I love so much. And he was very polite. He was very enthusiastic about the show. There was sort of an unspoken kind of like, “What’s up, man?” But we’ve been hearing from so many people, and it’s kind of fun to see the Fallout fans come out of the woodwork. People you’ve known a long time and you realize, “Oh, you’ve been playing this whole time.” So it’s been a lot of fun.

With the world being as vast as it is, there’s definitely plenty of room for Paul to show up, whether as a guest character or a main cast member. Notable celebrity cameos for the first season include Matt Berry, Fred Armisen, and Chris Parnell.

One cameo I would personally love to have in the series is Rick and Morty and Community creator Dan Harmon; who has played Fallout and is known to put showrunner cameos in his series like with Micthell Hurwitz (Arrested Development) and Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad).

For now, fans are still waiting on the announcement of a second season, but a lot of people have been raving about the show—both longtime fans of the games and newcomers. Hopefully Paul will be free to have a substantial role in the future.

A second season of Fallout hasn’t been officially greenlit, but you can watch the whole first season now available on Amazon Prime Video.

‘It’s an Absolute F*cking Banger’: Ready or Not Sequel in the Works https://www.geekfeed.com/horro-movie-ready-or-not-sequel-in-the-works/ Thu, 18 Apr 2024 07:33:39 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82047 Directing duo Radio Silence (Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin) are currently gearing up for the release of their loli vampire movie Abigail, but it looks like they already have their next project in development.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the new horror auteurs are ready to come back to one of their original horror properties—2019’s Ready or Not starring Samara Weaving.

We don’t have a n official story breakdown yet, but they do say that the story they have for the sequel is ‘an absolute f—ing banger.’ Gillett says:

“It’s getting figured out… That’s what we’ll say: Ready or Not 2 is getting figured out. What we can say is that there is a script that is an absolute f—ing banger of a sequel. And however it gets made, and in whatever capacity we are helping get it made, we are so excited that it’s happening. That movie is truly the love of our creative lives in a lot of ways.”

If you haven’t checked out Ready or Not, the movie is essentially a horror spin on the game Hide and Seek, and Samara Weaving gets married into a weird rich family which has a sick tradition of playing Hide and Seek where she hides and everyone else in the house tries to find her and literally kill her.

There’s also a “deal with the devil” element to the movie, and it’s possible that this could be the angle that Radio Silence wants to take the sequel (Kids’ game horror cinematic universe?). Of course, they could just bring back Weaving and title the sequel Ready or Not: Here I Come.

If anything, the first movie was a pretty solid standalone, but if Radio Silence feels very passionately about the project, I’m willing to see what they’ve got. In the meantime, you should check out Abigail which comes to theaters April 19.

Deborah and Ava Find Each Other Again in Trailer for Hacks Season 3 https://www.geekfeed.com/deborah-and-ava-in-trailer-for-hacks-season-3/ Wed, 17 Apr 2024 16:17:57 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81996 The second season of HBO’s Hacks ended with Deborah firing Ava to allow her to find her own voice out of her shadow, and while it does seem like it does end on a high note, we should expect things not to be as rosy as they turn out to be.

The third season is set to come back this May, and we have our first trailer. Check this out:

The synopsis for the season reads:

“A year after parting, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) is riding high off the success of her standup special while Ava (Hannah Einbinder) pursues new opportunities back in Los Angeles.”

Though Deborah was kind of a washed out comic when we first meet her in Hacks, we spend the second season with her trying to get into new material thanks to the pushing of Ava.

The series isn’t really shy about how imperfect the relationship of the two is. While Ava does have fierce appreciation for Deborah’s trailblazing and natural talent, she has no qualms about calling out how old-fashioned and not politically correct her material could be.

On the other hand, Deborah has a lot to teach Ava, but she can get so incredibly petty; and top that off with her endless amount of money and she can be downright cruel to the underdog that is Ava.

Personally, I’m just so happy to see the show back. The characters and drama is fantastic, and while I thought Season 2 could have been the perfect sendoff, I’m wondering where we could see the girls again in Season 3.

Hacks returns to Max on May 2.

Look Back: Watch Trailer for Next Anime Movie from Chainsaw Man Creator https://www.geekfeed.com/look-back-watch-trailer-for-next-anime-movie/ Wed, 17 Apr 2024 16:15:43 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81992 Mangaka Tatsuki Fujimoto is best known by anime fans as the creator of Chainsaw Man, but he also has a fantastic one-shot manga called Look Back which is a slice-of-life story about two young girls who want to become manga artists.

As it turns out, Look Back is going to be getting the anime movie treatment, and we just got a new trailer. Check this out:

Here’s the official description translated [and edited]:

Tatsuki Fujimoto’s youth story has been made into an animated movie!

Fujino is a fourth-year elementary school student who serializes four-panel comics in her school’s newspaper. She received rave reviews from her classmates, but one day, her teacher told her that he wanted to post four frames of Kyomoto, a classmate who was refusing to go to school.

What connects the two girls is a single-minded love for manga. But one day, something happens that shatters everything… An amazing coming-of-age story that will pierce your heart.

Unlike Chainsaw Man which goes for several chapters, Look Back is one self-contained story. And though it doesn’t have a lot of fantastical battles and monsters, it does have a very artsy take on the character of the ‘obsessed artist.’

When you read it, you can’t help but think this is also a look into Fujimoto’s mindset when he was training himself to be a mangaka; and top that off with the frustation that one feels when they see someone who is naturally talented in the craft.

By the looks of the trailer, we could be seeing some kind of change in the original story of the manga—which can admittedly get kind of tragic. Either way, I don’t expect it to be any less emotional.

Look Back will release in theaters on June 28.

We don’t have any details on what his role could be, but if we’re keeping to the themes of the franchise, it will probably have something to do with a scientist who is in over their head trying to achieve some kind of immoral goal with the dinosaurs.

Funnily enough, after playing Unicron for the Transformers, Domingo is also said to have been eyed to replace Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror in the MCU. We don’t know how far that deal has gone, Domingo has been getting more attention recently, and all he really needs is a role in the spotlight to solidify his name as a strong talent.

Who knows, maybe a starring role as the antagonist of the next Jurassic movie could make Marvel’s mind up on taking him on as Kang. Then again, it will have to depend on how great the part is.

We don’t know much about the next Jurassic movie, but hopefully it will bring us back to this new alternate reality where dinosaurs have been released on the Earth, and humans will have to find a way to co-exist peacefully.

The next Jurassic World movie is said to be aiming for a release on July 2, 2025.

T・P BON Trailer: Check Out Time Travelling Adventure Anime from the Creators of Doraemon https://www.geekfeed.com/t%e3%83%bbp-bon-trailer-time-travelling-adventure/ Wed, 17 Apr 2024 16:08:16 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81984 The robot cat Doraemon is no doubt a Japanese icon, but the creator duo of Fujio Fujio (Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko) had other IP and characters they worked on. One such property is Time Patrol Bon (T・P BON ), and though it got an OVA back in the 80s, Netflix and Studio Bones have teamed up to do a reboot anime.

Check this out:

Here’s the official description for T・P BON:

An ordinary junior high school student encounters the pages of history! A manga by Fujiko F. Fujio gets a new anime series adaptation for the first time in 30 years.

Though on the surface it does look like T・P BON is going to be a kid-friendly series, it does look like the show is going to deal with more mature themes—just look at all the blood and violence we’re getting in the trailer. There’s even a shot of someone about to shoot themselves in the head.

If anything, rebooting old classic anime/manga has been kind of a rising trend recently. Hits like Urusei Yatsura and Ruruouni Kenshin have been getting the modern anime makeover, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that a property from the creators of one of the most infuential characters in Japan pop-culture is going to get the same treatment.

Hopefully we get to see more of it soon since May is just around the corner.

T・P BON is set to premiere on Netflix on May 2, and the second season will premiere on July 17.

Keanu Reeves Cast as Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic 3 https://www.geekfeed.com/reeves-cast-as-shadow-the-hedgehog-in-sonic-3/ Wed, 17 Apr 2024 16:01:38 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81977 The Sonic fandom collectively gasped when it was revealed that Shadow the Hedgehog would be in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and it looks like they’ve found someone to voice Sonic’s rival—and he’s another face from the Cyberpunk 2077 game.

THR reports that Keanu Reeves (John Wick, The Matrix) has been cast as the voice of Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. As it turns out, Jim Carrey will be returning as Robotnik for the third movie, and he’s going to be recruiting Shadow to go after Sonic this time—because things worked out so well with Knuckles the first time.

We don’t know exactly what Shadow’s deal is going to be in the movie, but fans know that he is essentially the “Anti-Sonic.” He has the same set of skills and powers, but whereas Sonic is supposed to be fun and friendly, Shadow is all dark and edgy.

With Knuckles already getting his own enemy-turned-friend arc, I’m hoping that they manage to tackle Shadow’s story in a different way. Then again, this is a kids’ property, so it’s possible that Shadow and Sonic will eventually find a way to reconcile their differences and team-up against the true enemy which is Robotnik/Eggman.

The first Sonic movie came out way back in 2020, and has since been one of the defining kids’ properties of the decade. We don’t know how long they plan to go forward with Sonic, but I’m excited to see how Hollywood is going to tackle video game movies for kids moving forward. Let’s not forget Super Mario was also a smash hit. You think Crash Bandicoot is coming anytime soon?

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is expected to come out in theaters on Dec. 20.

Disney+ is Looking to Introduce a Classic ‘Channels’ Feature https://www.geekfeed.com/disney-to-introduce-a-classic-channels-feature/ Wed, 17 Apr 2024 15:50:11 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81973 Watching television has greatly changed over the last few years ever since the rise of streaming services, but there are still some audiences that look to be going back to the old ways.

According to The Information (via @DiscussingFilm), Disney+ is looking to introduce an old school concept in the form of ‘channels’ to its streaming service. The idea is that it would function like classic cable, and there would be different channels that users could log into depending on the genre or brand like Star Wars or Marvel.

The idea of introducing channels to a streaming service isn’t entirely new. Netflix had also tried to make their own channel feature which would allow users to log in to one continuously streaming channel, but I guess that didn’t really take off. I guess Disney is shaking things up a bit by having multiple channels that are curated by genre.

Though streaming does allow for people to watch whatever they want at their own leisure, a lot of users have admitted that they miss the idea of having to watch something around the same time as everyone else. There’s also the concept of tyranny of choice; with so many options at their hands, some users actually just want someone to make the decision for them as to what to watch next.

We don’t know if Disney’s new channel concept will fly yet, but it wouldn’t hurt to try. A lot of people thought that full-season releases were ideal at the start, but as time went on, they realized that weekly releases for a show was the best way to gauge engagement for a prolonged period of time.

Disney+ is now available in select regions.
