Here’s the post from the official Jurassic World twitter:

So far, the post didn’t come with any teasers as to what to expect with this film, but it is said that the movie will be focusing on a whole new cast of characters this time around; so don’t hold your breath for Chris Pratt or Bryce Dallas Howard to make a return.

Despite the movies being critically panned when they came out, the Jurassic World movies still managed to make a lot of bank in the box office; so it won’t be any surprise that Universal would want to make more of these films.

With Dominion, the dinosaurs pretty much are established as part of the world once more, and humans will just have to embrace the possibility of forests that could have a roaming T-rex or a mosasaurus suddenly appearing on a beach somewhere.

I can’t speculate much about where the story could go, but I would imagine that the world would have to change to be able to accommodate for the sudden existence of all these giant animals that can tear through houses and vehicles like nothing.

Fingers crossed we get a teaser before the year ends.

The next Jurassic World movie comes out July 2, 2025.

New Jurassic World Movie in the Works Eyeing 2025 Release https://www.geekfeed.com/new-jurassic-world-movie-in-the-works/ Wed, 24 Jan 2024 16:36:33 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80722 Jurassic World Dominion came out in 2022, and though the film didn’t get the critical reception it was expecting, it still made over a billion in the box office, solidifying it as one of the most successful film franchises of all time.

Though it did seem that we wouldn’t be getting any more Jurassic movies, THR is reporting that a new Jurassic World film is in the works, and the movie has been in such deep development that Universal is said to be looking for a release sometime in 2025.

So far, no director has been announced to be taking the helm for the film, but David Koepp, who was the writer of the original Jurassic Park, is said to be coming back to tackle a whole new story which is said to be taking place in a ‘new era’ of the franchise.

Producer Frank Marshall, who had also overseen the Jurassic World trilogy, is also coming back to produce this film, and Steven Spielberg himself is also attached as an executive producer via Amblin Entertainment.

By the end of Dominion, we saw that the dinosaurs had been freed from the park and he humans just ended up co-existing with them (despite how dangerous some of the dinosaurs are). We should expect the continuity to further explore a world with dinosaurs, but I’m interested to see how Koepp would approach the story because ancient locusts are kind of a boring villain for a dinosaur film.

No release date has been set for the next Jurassic World, but the studio is said to be eyeing a 2025 release.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Starring Jude Law Gets New Synopsis https://www.geekfeed.com/star-wars-skeleton-crew-gets-new-synopsis/ Tue, 10 Oct 2023 08:33:38 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=79100 It’s been a while since we got an update on Star Wars series Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law, but with the Ahsoka series over, we now have a new synopsis for the show.

This has come out online via @SkeletonCrew_SW:

“In the first episode of ‘Skeleton crew’ we are introduced to four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet and get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies, will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.”

We don’t know much about the show officially, but the description does line up with the rumors that the series will follow a bunch of young kids on a ship with Law as their captain. It also goes without saying that Law’s character is said to be a former Jedi master, who has probably turned into a smuggler during the height of the Empire.

It’s also been said that Skeleton Crew will be embracing more kid-focused action-adventures, not unlike Stand By Me and The Goonies. If anything, this could very well be Disney’s own attempt at their own Stranger Things set in Star Wars.

So far, Law is the biggest name attached to the show, but the series has confirmed quite the roster of directors which include Jon Watts (Spider-Man: Homecoming to No Way Home), Jake Schreir (Beef), Lee Isaac Chung (Minari), Bryce Dallas Howard (The Mandalorian), the Daniels (Everything, Everywhere, All at Once), and David Lowery (The Green Knight).

Hopefully we get an official update soon.

No official release date has been announced for Star WarsSkeleton Crew, but it is rumored to be releasing early 2024.

Henry Cavill is Another Bond-Type in Star-Studded Trailer for Argyle https://www.geekfeed.com/henry-cavill-is-another-bond-type-in-argyle/ Tue, 03 Oct 2023 02:36:01 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78948 It’s pretty sad that Henry Cavill lost Superman and The Witcher, but everyone is still hoping he can land some great projects soon. Though he may not be in the running to play the next James Bond, Cavill does play a secret agent in the upcoming Argylle and we just got a new trailer.

Check this out:

The official description for the film reads:

Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World franchise) is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books—which center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate—begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past.

Accompanied by Aiden (Oscar® winner Sam Rockwell), a cat-allergic spy, Elly (carrying Alfie in her backpack) races across the world to stay one step ahead of the killers as the line between Elly’s fictional world and her real one begins to blur.

As you can see, the trailer is filled with all kinds of stars, like Cavill, Howard, Rockwell, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Bryan Cranston, and Ariana DeBose. The film even managed to bring back other Kingsman stars including Samuel L. Jackson and Sofia Boutella.

With the Kingsman films already a kind of parody of the Bond franchise, it’s going to be interesting to see just how Argylle sets itself apart.

Watch out for Argylle when it comes to theaters on Feb. 2, 2024.

Ex-Gwen Stacy Bryce Dallas Howard Gives Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Her Seal of Approval https://www.geekfeed.com/howard-gives-across-the-spider-verse-approval/ Tue, 06 Jun 2023 16:03:30 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77159 Before she was running from dinosaurs or directing episodes of The Mandalorian, Bryce Dallas Howard was best known for playing Gwen Stacy in 2007’s Spider-Man 3. With the Gwen character being a main player in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Howard went online to gush about how much she loved the movie.

Here’s her post:

For context, here’s a scene from when Howard was playing Stacy from 16 years ago:

Before Spider-Gwen was created back in 2014, Gwen Stacy was notoriously Peter Parker’s dead girlfriend who was killed by Green Goblin in the comics. Gwen had remained a famously dead character for decades, and it wasn’t until the Edge of the Spider-Verse comic where Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez switched Peter Parker out with her and created one of the most celebrated female superheroes today.

As far as live-action appearances go, Gwen has just been a love interest for Spider-Man, but maybe the popularity of the Spider-Verse movies could bring a live-action Spider-Gwen to the spotlight. I’d say let Hailee Steinfeld play her again, but seeing that she’s already Kate Bishop in the MCU, I wouldn’t mind if they cast someone else younger.

Then again, the animated Gwen is already a pretty great take on the character, and after seeing Spider-Verse 2, it’s going to be a real challenge to pull of Gwen and Miles in live-action the way they’re portrayed in the film.

For now, catch Gwen in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse now showing in theaters.

Dinos Dominate the Earth in Latest Trailer for Jurassic World Dominion https://www.geekfeed.com/dinos-dominate-the-earth-in-latest-trailer-for-jurassic-world-dominion/ Fri, 29 Apr 2022 18:32:23 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=65064 Jurassic World may just have had a contained theme park of dinosaurs, but the upcoming sequel Dominion will actually give us an entire planet where dinosaurs roam free. The movie is slated for a June release, and we have a new trailer that showcases all the new dinos that will be appearing in the film.

Watch the Jurassic World trailer here:

Though we get a look at some new variants like feathered raptors and a new kind of T-Rex, we also have a look at some familiar faces. I’m pretty sure the franchise’s main T-Rex is still in the movie, and of course, we get to see Owen’s favorite pet raptor Blue—who has now spawned a child.

It’s also no mystery that the movie is bringing back the main cast of the original Jurassic Park movie—with this franchise looking to bring everything full circle. Though this thing is marketed as a sci-fi spectacle, I’m hoping that there’s also some room for thought when it comes to science and humanity’s responsibility to the environment—now that they brought dinosaurs back.

From Jurassic World architect and director Colin Trevorrow, Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.

Catch Jurassic World: Dominion when it hits theaters on June 10.

Samuel L. Jackson Asked Bryce Dallas Howard About a Star Wars Comeback https://www.geekfeed.com/samuel-l-jackson-asked-bryce-dallas-howard-about-a-star-wars-comeback/ Wed, 16 Mar 2022 05:15:33 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64470 Samuel L. Jackson’s Mace Windu was a fan favorite that came out of the Star Wars prequel trilogy, and Jackson has been trying through the years to come back to a galaxy far far away. As it turns out, he actually asked Mandalorian director Bryce Dallas Howard to bring him back to Star Wars somehow.

Talking to the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Jackson was asked about any Star Wars return down the line, and he revealed that he had talked to Howard while they were shooting a movie:

“I asked. I asked — the only person I’ve ever said that to, about coming back, was Bryce Dallas Howard, ’cause I just did a movie with her, and she directs episodes of ‘The Mandalorian,’” he said. “Said, ‘So you think you might be able to hook a brother up? I mean, you like me, right?’ She’s like, ‘I love you, you’re amazing!’ ‘So put me back in! Put me in coach, I’m ready! I’ll learn to lightsaber left handed. Come on.’”

Jackson had also pointed out, “There’s a huge history of people with one hand returning in ‘Star Wars,’”.

While I love the character of Mace Windu, I think his death serves a good purpose for the story overall, and it would just ruin it if he somehow comes back alive. Just look at the reactions to The Rise of Skywalker when they decided to bring back Palpatine.

Though I am not up for Mace coming back to life, I would be happy with a prequel. Maybe they can have Jackson de-aged like they did with Captain Marvel? I would be fine following the early years of Mace Windu as a Jedi padawan.

For now, fans wait for Obi-Wan Kenobi to come to Disney+ on May 25.

Jurassic World: Dominion New Still Features Chris Pratt https://www.geekfeed.com/jurassic-world-dominion-new-still-features-chris-pratt/ Wed, 29 Dec 2021 06:53:04 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63056 Colin Trevorrow may not have been able to make his Star Wars movie, but he’s returning to a big franchise that he successfully rebooted with Jurassic World. Dominion is set to come out next year, and we have a new still of Chris Pratt’s Owen trying to tame a parasaur.

Check this out:

JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION

With Fallen Kingdom dealing with the evacuation of the dinosaurs from the park, Dominion will follow the aftermath of the last film, where the dinosaurs are set loose on the world. With Owen and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) still trying to save the dinos, they are now faced with a harder task of wrangling them from all over the globe.

Colin Trevorrow tells EW about the setting of Dominion:

“They have been multiplying and living amongst us and clashing with us… But Dominion is set all over the world, through many different environments: wilderness, urban, desert, snow. It’s exciting to see these creatures navigate environments that they weren’t built to survive in. They grew up in a theme park and now they’re here!”

As for Owen, he’s still working with dinosaurs, but now there is the danger of poachers who also want to get their hands on Jurassic World’s most valuable product.

While Jurassic World is known best for its adventure/suspense elements, it’s going to be interesting to see if Trevorrow could use the film as commentary for real-life poaching that happens in the current world.

Watch out for Jurassic World: Dominion when it comes out on June 10, 2022.

Jurassic World Dominion Prologue Released https://www.geekfeed.com/jurassic-world-dominion-prologue-released/ Wed, 24 Nov 2021 16:41:32 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=62572 Love or hate Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the end of the movie had brought something never-before-seen in the Jurassic franchise which is dinosaurs roaming free all over the world. The dino-pocalypse had been teased in the short Battle at Big Rock, and now Universal has released the first five minutes of Jurassic World Dominion.

Watch the footage for Dominion down here:

This original 5 min prologue to Jurassic World Dominion, directed by Colin Trevorrow, rockets audiences back 65 million years into the past to experience the world before humans existed—and offers a glimpse of a world in which dinosaurs are living among us.

The prologue essentially gives us a look at prehistoric times when the dinosaur DNA is trapped inside the mosquitoes, and then it flash forwards to the ‘present’ where dinosaurs have been released into civilization—with one letting loose in a drive-in theater.

While we’ve always had stories where people get trapped in the Isla Nublar, and we’ve had a story where one dinosaur gets let loose in a city. Now Dominion is really looking to shake things up by having dinosaurs walk the literal Earth. With Fallen Kingdom tackling the ethical issues of keeping the dinosaurs alive, what will humans do when they are faced with being replaced as the dominant species on the planet?

It’s a very interesting take on Jurassic, and while I’m bummed that director Colin Trevorrow didn’t get to make his Star Wars film, hopefully he can bring a satisfying conclusion to this IP that he started.

Catch Jurassic World Dominion when it hits theaters on June 10, 2022.
