Suicide Squad Sequel Could Start Filming This October

We’ve been getting steady updates on Wonder Woman 2 and Shazam!, but news for the Suicide Squad sequel had gone quiet. Now we have an update that says that the movie might actually start shooting this year.

According to Omega Underground, Suicide Squad 2 could start production this October in the UK. With Wonder Woman 2 also shooting in the same studio, some guess that Suicide Squad 2 could start production the moment WW wraps up.

This time around, director David Ayer will not be at the helm, but instead, it will be Warrior director Gavin O’Connor. Not much of the official cast has been revealed either, but Will Smith and Margot Robbie are expected to come back as Deadshot and Harley Quinn.

Though the movie was absolutely slammed by critics, Suicide Squad still managed to rake in a lot of money in the box office. Hopefully, the sequel will build on the great cast of characters that the first movie introduced; let’s just cross our fingers that we get a better plot this time around.

We don’t have any official news on the plot, but there was a rumor that the main villain will be the Rock’s, Black Adam. In lieu of appearing in Shazam! Adam will actually be presented as the villain for Task Force X. It’s just a rumor, but it would be interesting to see the Squad go against someone as established as Adam.

No specific release date has been announced for Suicide Squad, but people are expecting the film to come out 2019.
