Predators Return in New Trailer for Hulu’s ‘Prey’

It was 2018 when we got the latest attempt to revitalize the Predator franchise, but the movie didn’t manage to get off the ground. Now

Watch the new trailer for Hulu’s Prey:

The official synopsis reads:

The origin story of the Predator in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago. Naru, a skilled female warrior, fights to protect her tribe against one of the first highly-evolved Predators to land on Earth.

While we’ve seen Predators take on almost every kind of modern fighter we could think off (including xenomorphs), it’s actually a pretty cool twist that they should bring them back to the past; where the Comanche were known to be fierce fighters, even when they just made do with what was around.

There’s actually an ongoing fan theory that the predators are capable of time travel, and this feels like this could be a great jumping off point for a new franchise. I guess I’m just kind of bummed that it isn’t coming out in theaters, but if it manages to do good in streaming, maybe it can pull a Morbius and get re-released in cinemas; at least, that’s what I’m hoping for.

Prey is directed by Dan Tratchtenberg and stars Amber Midthunder, Harlan Blayne Kytwayhat, Dane DiLiegro, and Dakota Beavers.

Prey comes to Hulu this Aug. 5.
