Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Says No Character Is Immune To Death

Despite all their powers and abilities, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige reminds fans that the characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe aren’t as invulnerable as one would expect. Even Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, the strongest and most powerful Avenger who’s set to debut in Captain Marvel later next month.

Feige just recently spoke in an interview with Screen Rant during a press junket for Captain Marvel, and during the discussion with the publication, the Marvel Studios producer was asked how exactly screen writers kept heroes like Captain Marvel grounded and relatable despite their massive powers. After all, Captain Marvel is the only hero who’d be able to take on Thanos without a weapon. How does a being this powerful remain human?

“I think, as with some of the other characters you’ve mentioned, there are no characters — certainly no Marvel characters — that are invulnerable and that are immortal. They can all be killed at some point as Loki says to Thor in Avengers 1. So we may see that at some point, introduce that at some point,” Feige explained.

This little word of advice is something that fans definitely need to take heading into Avengers: Endgame. With such high stakes, fans have been speculating the potential deaths of the original Avengers. After all, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evan’s contract with Marvel is soon coming to an end. What better way to close a decade long career than by creating a heart-wrenching swan song for Marvel’s fan-favorite heroes?

Captain Marvel premieres March 8, 2019. Avengers: Endgame is to follow a few months after, dropping on April 26, 2019.
