Critics agree that Travis Knight’s Bumblebee is by far the best movie in the Transformers franchise. The movie, which premiered last December, currently holds an impressive 94% on review aggregator website, Rotten Tomatoes. By comparison, the first Transformer movie, released twelve years ago, only received 57%.

While Bumblebee’s box-office performance falls a little bit short of its predecessors, only earning $200 million thus far, there is already talk about a possible sequel. Thankfully for fans and critics who enjoyed the movie, it seems like the lead is more than willing to return to her character should Bumblebee part 2 would be ordered:

In an interview with Screen Rant, Haile Steinfeld was asked about whether or not she would be on board if ever sequel would be a reality. Without missing a beat, the actress revealed that she would love to play the part of Charlie again. She had such an amazing experience and is very eager to relive it again:

“I would, absolutely. If it means having any kind of experience like I did making this one, I would love to do that again. I think what’s so exciting about these films is that we make them for the fans. And if they choose to like it and want to see more, then that’s when we go back to work. That’s the exciting part. But yeah, of course, I would absolutely love to be part of this sort of thing again.”

Steinfeld explains that as far as Charlie, her character, goes, there is still so much to explore. And like Transformers fans, she is excited where the narrative would throw Charlie:

“I feel that we’ve had very few, I guess, in-depth conversations about where she could possibly go in the future, but I think for me, without having spent much time thinking about that, I do feel that she’s one person at the beginning of this movie and a completely different and better human by the end. She’s grown so much in such a small amount of time, she’s learned so much. I mean, even then, at the end, I felt though she’s got so much more to learn, so far to go, so much more to say. And I’d be very excited to see where and what that is.”

Thankfully for Steinfeld, even the movie’s director, Travis Knight, already has plans for Bumblebee 2. While promoting the movie, Knight explained that he has a vision for what the sequel would be. It is just a matter of the world wanting more:

“I think it certainly could be. I mean, when I get to the end of one of my movies, I always imagine what’s next for the characters. And so, in my mind, I’ve got all these scenarios and adventures that play out, both with Charlie and with Bee and everyone else. We’ll see if the world wants more. Maybe we’ll explore some of those things.”

Thus far, Paramount Pictures has yet to confirm the development of Bumblebee 2.
