The CW presence at the Television Critics Association Press Tour is incredibly palpable with the heavy amounts of announcements we’ve gotten today. The Flash‘s third season’s big bads are non other than speedster Savitar and Doctor Alchemy. This doesn’t mean they’ll be the only ones to antagonize Barry Allen and the Star Labs team. Get your passports ready because Collider reports producer Andrew Kreisberg confirming a trip to Gorilla City:

“Yes, we’re going to be doing a two-part episode that takes place in Gorilla City.”

Back in January, Kreisberg said that he wanted to wait to continue telling Grodd’s story when they had time to do a multi-episode arc:

I would liken the Gorilla City thing to Ra’s al Ghul. You know, you hear about “the man from nanda part” in [Arrow] Season 1, and “the man who showed Malcolm the way,” and then you met Nyssa, then in Season 3 you met Ra’s. So, it’s a long-term thing.

The Flash Gorilla City Grodd Episode Enter Gorilla City in 'The Flash' Season 3

It seems the time has come to take CW’s DC universe a step weirder and travel to the alternate universe where Gorilla Grodd now resides. In the comics, this gorilla driven city first appeared in The Flash #107, and is hidden deep in the Congo Basin of Africa. Back in Season 2 of The Flash, we needed a portal to get there. Now, with the confirmation of traveling dimensions to arrive at Gorilla City brings up the question: Aside of Gorilla Grodd, will we see Solovar, Boka, Nnamdi, and Montague? If so, that’s going to require a lot of budget to bring the CGI, talking gorillas to life. Either way, expect a lot of monkey jokes.

The Flash Season 3 synopsis:

“Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.”

The Flash returns to The CW on Tuesday, October 4.
