There are some people who enjoy a good fright. Be it from a horror house or a scary movie, there is something about the experience that makes them crave for more. According to scientists, this predilection for this kind of stimulus is completely normal. Horror movies, for instance, is a form of a good stressor. Research shows that a tryst with a horror-themed movie or park can actually improve a person’s mood. They often feel a sense of accomplishment after going through the experience.

With that said, if you are one of those people who enjoy a horror movie or horror house, then you are in luck. Not only do you not have to wait until Halloween for a good scare, you also get a chance to live out a classic horror flick – Friday the 13th.

Recently, Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco, Camp No-Be for short, announced that they would be opening up the property for fans of Friday the 13th. Camp No-Be aka Camp Crystal Lake is the actual location where most of the movie was filmed. It is privately owned by the Boy Scouts of America and is located in the picturesque hills of Northwestern New Jersey.

This is not the first time Camp Crystal Lake Tours were offered by Camp No-Be. In 2011, 2013 and 2017, the property made itself available for the fans of the movie. For every tour, the reception was always overwhelmingly positive.

Friday The 13th Camp Crystal Lake

” A relatively small group of horror fans purchased a ticket and traveled to camp (from as far away as 3000 miles away!) not knowing what to expect when they got there. Well, the tour was a huge success! 100% of the surveyed attendees said they had a fantastic unforgettable time and most of them said they would return for a future tour” read a part of their website.

Nevertheless, this year is the first time the camp is allowing visitors to stay on the property overnight. This tour, otherwise known as the VIP tour, includes an overnight stay and a chance to meet Adrienne King aka Alice in the Friday the 13th movie:

“VIP guests will participate in the tour of the camp, have an amazing dinner in our historic dining hall and take part in a first-time-ever special evening activity. When the rest of the afternoon tour attendees leave, their VIP experience will continue with an overnight stay in our log cabins, breakfast and a once-in-a-lifetime activity in the morning with our special guest. This will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for hardcore F13 fans.”

The tickets for the regular tour and the VIP tour are extremely limited. The participants for the regular tour would be chosen via lottery. On the other hand, slots for the VIP tour would be auctioned to the highest bidders.

The tour is scheduled for April 13- 14, 2018. In order to be considered to participate, names should be submitted on the website before March 4, 2018. For more information, visit the tour’s official website – www.crystallaketours.com.
