Young Sheldon Finale Gives First Look at Sheldon and Amy Post-Big Bang Theory

Jim Parsons may be the narrator of Young Sheldon, but he has never made an onscreen appearance on the show throughout its entire run. With YS coming to an end, though, we now have our first look at Sheldon (Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) post-The Big Bang Theory.

Check this out:

It’s not clear exactly when this will show up in the finale, but it’s likely it’s going to be used as a framing device for the entire show. My guess it’s something pretentious like Sheldon writing his own backstory after he won the Nobel Prize; with Amy coming around to tell him how silly he was being.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we got an update on the rest of the TBBT cast, but the show has confirmed that Sheldon and Amy have a bunch of kids—and one of them is named ‘Leonard’. It’s possible that the finale could also set-up another spinoff which has already been announced focusing on Sheldon’s brother Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) who have a child together in the latter seasons of Young Sheldon.

Love or hate Big Bang Theory or Young Sheldon, you have to admit that the show has mass appeal, and that’s probably the reason why producers were eager for a Georgie and Mandy spinoff. It’s very clean family fun, with some serious moments here and there—plus they get to recycle a lot of the ‘Sheldon is weird’ jokes from the original show. With Georgie and Mandy though, I think they’ll have a new wealth of callbacks thanks to Young Sheldon.

Young Sheldon is set to end with its final 2 back-to-back episodes on May 16 on Paramount+.
