WB is Already Discussing the Next Harley Quinn Film

Birds of Prey may have had its theatrical run sullied by the spread of the Coronavirus, but it looks like WB was pleased with the results, and news has it, they are already planning Harley Quinn’s next film.

According to DCEU Mythic, sources have confirmed that WB is in ‘very early talks’ about Harley’s next appearance on the big screen. We know that she’s going to be in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, but what’s next for Margot Robbie’s Clown Princess of Crime?

Before Birds of Prey was even a thing, there was buzz going around that there were plans for a Harley v Joker movie with Jared Leto set to return. Suicide Squad director David Ayer was even said to be planning a Gotham City Sirens movie.

Seeing that GCS is likely to feature fan favorites like Catwoman, Batgirl, and Poison Ivy, a lot of fans would actually want this film to happen. Personally, I’m still in the camp of giving Jared Leto’s Joker a second chance, so maybe a Harley v Joker wouldn’t be so bad either.

For now, I think the DCEU is at a type of crossroads, what with Zack Snyder’s Justice League set to come out next year. I think WB is considering whether they should trudge forward with a disconnected DCEU, or try to build up the universe again, what with this newfound support from fans.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it goes. Catch Zack Snyder’s Justice League when it comes out on HBO Max sometime in 2021.

Here’s the synopsis for Justice League:

Fuelled by his restored faith in humanity, and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly-awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes in Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash, it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
