The Suicide Squad: James Gunn Confirms Not Everyone Makes It to the End of the Film

The main plot of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad has mostly been kept under wraps, but Gunn himself seems to have no qualms about this reveal—most of the members of this new squad will die.

Gunn confirms this on Twitter:

While I’m sure they won’t kill of Harley Quinn, there are a lot of characters that I think are primed to be killed in the movie. For one, Polka-Dot Man already sounds ridiculously incompetent, so it’s possible that he could be dying by the end of the film. We also don’t know much about John Cena’s Peacemaker yet, but I can imagine that his ‘reformed’ character could meet a grizzly end fighting for ‘the right thing.’

Seeing how Gunn was able to make us root for misfits with Guardians of the Galaxy, I’m sure he could do the same thing when it comes to The Suicide Squad. I’m just hoping he finds a way to make this story stand out on its own. I don’t want a Guardians movie that just has all the characters wearing DC skins.

We don’t know when we’re going to get a preview for The Suicide Squad yet, but with a release late next year, it’s possible that we’re going to get our preview sometime in 2021. Then again, with WB usually bringing in a show for SDCC, maybe we can get a teaser this coming July.

Catch The Suicide Squad when it hits theaters Aug. 6, 2021.
