MMA fighter Gina Carano has played tough gals in shows like The Mandalorian and Deadpool, but now it looks like she’s standing up to another oppressor—Instagram censors.
Carano had recently posted up a (quite tasteful) nude photo of herself on IG which had been taken down by the social media platform because it was said not to fit the sit’s community standards. This had apparently outraged Carano, who had wrote about her grievances on Twitter:
So that’s what it’s like to be censored for no reason. Pic was taken down by Instagram. There’s much more important news today but that was some classic bullshit. The whole post was about freedom of expression. Violating zero rules. Ironic. Feels like I graduated. 👍 Thanks Karen pic.twitter.com/hJDn4Vph49

If anything, the photo is being reposted by several of her fans in protest in solidarity. Check it out here:

As can see, it’s not at all pornographic, and there’s a lot worse that you can find on the site that haven’t been taken down. There have been a lot of people protesting about IG being too picky when it comes to its censorship lately, and I think the only thing people can really do right now is to just speak up until they can affect some real change.
As for Carano, it looks like she has a bright career ahead of her. She had come out as a fan favorite in The Mandalorian and everyone is hoping that this her warrior of Alderaan Cara Dune will have some more things to do in the second season. Heck, they could make an entire series about her and I wouldn’t really mind.
No release date has been set for The Mandalorian 2, but Disney+ is aiming to have it come out sometime this October.
