The Mandalorian 2 will NOT be Delayed Despite Coronavirus

The second season of The Mandalorian is set to comeout this October, but with COVID-19 effectively delaying everything, fans were waiting for Lucasfilm to announce that Mando won’t be making its fall premiere. What’s great news is, it actually will.

Talking to CNBC, Disney CEO Bob Chapek has confirmed, “there will be no delay on Mandalorian.” He doesn’t give us any specifics on the state of the show, but at least we know that we won’t have to wait for more months to get an update on Din Djarin and Baby Yoda.

If anything, this was kind of expected from the series, seeing that The Mandalorian was able to wrap production before lockdowns had started. The only delay would have had something to do with reshoots or post-production, but so far editing and post work has been something that could be done remotely.

For now, everyone is excited for what’s in store for the second season. Admittedly the first season was very sparing when it came to fanservice so that all the focus could be on our new characters. With this next season, we’re said to have appearances from EU favorites like Boba Fett, Ahsoka Tano, and even Sabine Wren. Who knows which other characters could make an appearance in The Mandalorian? Dengar? Bossk? It’s only  a matter of time before Jon Favreau goes crazy with the nostalgia trigger.

Personally I just want to see more of that Star Wars Underworld in The Mandalorian. Give us more of the infamous Hutt clan!

Catch the second season of The Mandalorian when it hits Disney+ this October.
