Gen V managed to be a successful swing on Amazon Prime Video’s part, but the network is now ready to go back to the main franchise with the fourth season of The Boys. The show is set to come back in June, and we have our first trailer showcasing the returning Butcher and Homelander.

In Season Four, the world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.
If you’ve watched Gen V, you’ll know that one of the key plot points in the trailer was introduced in that show in the form of a virus that can kill supes. With Butcher himself becoming terminally ill from using the Temp V, you can imagine that he’s on the end of his rope when it comes to finishing off The Seven.
Like every season, we’re also getting some new heroes in the roster—Sister Sage (Susan Heyward) and Firecracker (Valorie Curry)—and it looks like they’re going to be as ruthless as Homelander. On the Boys’ side we have a new character played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen, The Walking Dead).
Will Homelander finally die this season? Or is the show waiting for him to turn into a Super-Hitler? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
