Temuera Morrison to Play Boba Fett in The Mandalorian 2

Before Din Djarin, Star Wars most infamous Mandalorian was none other than Boba Fett; and though he didn’t make an appearance in the first season, he’ll apparently be brought back for Season 2 of The Mandalorian.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Temuera Morrison, who played Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones, will be playing the part of Boba Fett in The Mandalorian 2. We don’t know exactly how he fits into the story, but THR confirms Boba is just “expected to play just a small role.”

The part of Boba had actually been teased in the first season, during the episode The Gunslinger where a mysterious stranger is seen standing over the body of Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). Personally I thought this was supposed to be Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon, but apparently this was meant to be a tease for Boba Fett.

While a lot of people were hoping that Boba would make an appearance in the first season, I think it would make sense that the show would hold out to have him in the next one. If anything, Boba would clearly upstage our main Mando if he was introduced too early; it’s kind of like how the Sequel Trilogy sidelined Luke in The Force Awakens so that we could focus on the new characters instead.

This next season looks to be having a lot more famous faces. Besides Boba, rumors are also swirling that Ahsoka Tano is finally going to make a live-action appearance. I have my fingers crossed we meet other bounty hunters like Bossk or Dengar.

We don’t know exactly when Boba makes his appearance, but the second season of The Mandalorian is expected to debut this October on Disney+.
