Though director Taika Waititi has dropped Akira for Thor: Love and Thunder, we’re still getting a new movie from him this year called Jojo Rabbit. It promises to be in the same vein as his earlier work like Eagle vs. Shark and Boy, and Fox Searchlight has released the first teaser for the film.

Check it out:

Writer director Taika Waititi (THOR: RAGNAROK, HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE), brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, JOJO RABBIT, a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy (Roman Griffin Davis as JoJo) whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi), Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.

Being a fan of Waititi before Thor: Ragnarok came out, I always thought that his MCU entry was not one of his best works. With Jojo Rabbit though, it feels like Waititi is coming back to what he does best, with this funny awkward moments and Wes Anderson-esque feel.

Besides Waititi playing Hitler, the movie also has the likes of Stephen Merchant (The Office UK) and Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect). You may also recognize the dancing boy as Alfie Allen a.k.a. Theon Greyjoy from Game of Thrones, as well as Johansson’s Iron Man 2 co-star Sam Rockwell.

Catch Jojo Rabbit when it hits theaters Oct. 18.
