The second season of the series is currently in development, and we have a teaser for some early concept art.

Check this out:

It’s not clear who is actually in the picture, but it does seem that it’s Ahsoka and Sabine still stuck on the planet Peridea. The finale also had us see Baylan (Ray Stevenson) standing on the edge of the statues of the Mortis Gods, and it’s likely that Ahsoka and Sabine could be on the same path as him.

Though Thrawn was able to escape along with Ezra who has finally found his way back to the Rebel Alliance, the show had ended with two pairs of master and apprentice stuck in the unknown regions. The big difference is that Ahsoka and Sabine are still together, while Baylan had left his apprentice Shin to fend for herself.

We don’t know exactly where the series is headed, but it does seem like we could see Shin turning over to Ahsoka’s side in the future. The fans also have a huge following for the “Wolfren” a.k.a. Sabine x Shin ship, and since The Rise of Skywalker made ‘Reylo’ a thing, I don’t think it’s impossible we could see a romance blossom between both padawans.

Then again, we don’t know if Disney or Lucasfilm is open enough to putting LGBT representation in the spotlight. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

In the meantime, catch the first season of Ahsoka now streaming on Disney+.

Star Wars: Ahsoka Series Gets New Batch of Character Posters https://www.geekfeed.com/ahsoka-series-gets-new-batch-of-character-posters/ Thu, 10 Aug 2023 18:10:37 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78163 After a divisive season of The Mandalorian, fans are looking forward to the Ahsoka series later this month, which will bring in multiple fan-favorites from animated shows like Rebels and The Clone Wars. To prep for the premiere in a few weeks, Disney+ has released some new character posters featuring Ahsoka and the rebels as well as the mysterious figures that will be coming after them.

Check these out:

Though we are expected to see more characters than just Ahsoka, Sabine, and Hera, the poster could possibly hint that the three will be at the center of the series; let’s also not forget that Ezra is also going to be in the show, and it’s him that Ahsoka and Sabine will be looking for.

As for the Dark Side users in the show, it’s unclear whether they are Sith or simply Inquistors, but some think that them brandishing orange lightsaber could mean that they’re in a completely independent faction—maybe one that’s more loyal to Thrawn than to Palpatine.

So far, the series looks like every other Star Wars show, but with Dave Filoni at the helm, you can bet a lot of fans are going to be tuning in for the premiere day. Though Mandalorian didn’t have the best reception, Andor was still critically acclaimed, and it would be great if Ahsoka managed to follow suit.

Watch out for the 2-episode premiere of Ahsoka on Disney+ this coming Aug. 23.

Star Wars: New Look at Sabine’s Full Armor in Ahsoka https://www.geekfeed.com/new-look-at-sabines-full-armor-in-ahsoka/ Sun, 06 Aug 2023 16:41:32 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78072 Fans rejoiced when The Mandalorian brought Clone Wars fan-favorite Ahsoka into the show, and now Ahsoka the series is going to be bringing into live-action characters from the beloved Rebels series.

One character making her live-action debut is Sabine Wren who is Mandalorian royalty, and a new promo image of her (played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo) shows off Sabine’s full costume in Ahsoka. Check this out:

Though Sabine’s outfit in Rebels is much brighter, her costume in Ahsoka still has those orange and maroon flourishes that really make her armor pop. While her hair is a shade of orange and purple in the animated series, it looks like the show is going to be sticking to her having purple hair.

Besides Sabine, other Rebels faces in the series will include Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Chopper the astromech droid, Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), and Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). The latest season of Mando also gave us a look at Zeb in live-action, but it’s unclear if he’s going to be showing up in this series yet. Just add a flashback with Kanan Jarrus, and the whole Rebels crew would have shown up in Ahsoka; and knowing showrunner Dave Filoni, he’s a guy who definitely loves his fanservice.

After a divisive reception of Mando 3 and Secret Invasion, Disney+ has been having a tough time this year when it comes to their streaming properties. Hopefully Ahsoka will manage to get them out of their slump.

Ahsoka gets a 2-episode premiere on Disney+ this Aug. 23.

Ahsoka: Natasha Liu Bordizzo on Prep for Sabine https://www.geekfeed.com/ahsoka-natasha-liu-bordizzo-on-prep-for-sabine/ Mon, 22 Aug 2022 08:15:18 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70670 We know that Pedro Pascal is the Mandalorian of Star Wars, but we’re going to be meeting some more Mando royalty in the upcoming Ahsoka series with Rebels character Sabine Wren.

Natasha Liu Bordizzo has been cast as the live-action Sabine, and talking to The Hollywood Reporter, she explains what kind of prep she did for the Ahsoka series. Bordizzo explains:

“It’s almost like a memory book; that’s what I feel Rebels is for me. It’s just this kind of free prep that I never even had to do as an actor because it’s all been done for me. My character’s memory is already recorded. So they encouraged [me to watch it], but obviously, I did watch it because how could I not?”

Though she doesn’t get into details about her work on Ahsoka, Bordizzo does hint that she’s going to be doing some action scenes. She explains that the stunt training for Netflix’s Day Shift had helped a lot with the Sabine role. She continues, “Even if you’re a physical person and physically fit, the act of being in a choreographed and really intense fight is still something to get used to. There are things like not squinting when you’re about to be hit. There are just so many little things that are jarring unless you’re used to stunts, so it definitely helped.”

A lot of people are already excited for the live-action debut of Sabine, but we’ll just have to wait when Lucasfilm is ready to give us our first look at the show. If anything, we could get something close to the release of Andor on Disney+.

Ahsoka is yet to receive a release date.

Sabine Actress Says Star Wars Rebels Unnecessary to Understand Ahsoka https://www.geekfeed.com/sabine-actress-says-rebels-unnecessary-to-understand-ahsoka/ Tue, 12 Jul 2022 02:27:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70022 After making her live-action debut in The Mandalorian, Ahsoka is set to have her own spinoff series on Disney+ with herself in the spotlight. Besides Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liy Bordizzo has been cast to play the live-action Sabine Wren from Rebels, but even if the show has legacy characters, she says you don’t have to do your Star Wars homework to enjoy the series.

Talking to Empire (via ScreenRant), Bordizzo explains, “A lot of people have not seen Rebels… It’s great for them to have seen it, but we’ve got a standalone chapter as it is.”

While this series is expected to have a story focused on Ahsoka, the inclusion of Sabine makes me think that we could have some more references to The Mandalorian. After all, Sabine herself is Mandalorian royalty, and it was her that gave Bo-Katan the darksaber before it found its way to Moff Gideon.

Hopefully the series will find a way to re-introduce Sabine as a character without the need to check out Rebels. After the whole thing with Cad Bane in The Book of Boba Fett, some fans have realized that it’s more important to establish characters within a season, rather than just have them show up and be recognized by fans who have watched the other material. So odd how they could pull that off with Black Krrsantan and not with a character as popular as Bane.

We don’t know what the Ahsoka series could be about yet, but we do know that she’s on the search for Thrawn. It’s also possible we’ll see the live-action version of Ezra Bridger on the show, seeing as the Rebels finale did have him blasting off to nowhere with Thrawn beside him.

No release date has been set for Ahsoka yet, but you can catch her in The Book of Boba Fett now streaming on Disney+.

Sabine Wren Cast in the Ahsoka Series https://www.geekfeed.com/sabine-wren-cast-in-the-ahsoka-series/ Wed, 01 Dec 2021 14:22:08 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=62663 The second season of The Mandalorian had started introducing live-action iterations of animated characters like Bo Katan (Katee Sackhoff) and Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson), and with the upcoming Ahsoka series, one Rebels character has been confirmed to appear, and Lucasfilm has found someone to play her live-action counterpart. Sabine Wren has finally been cast in Ahsoka.

As reported by Deadline, Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny) will be playing the Ghost crew’s resident Mandalorian royalty. Bordizzo will be joining a cast which includes Dawson, as well as Hayden Christensen who will be reprising the role of Anakin Skywalker—either as a Force ghost or Anakin in Clone Wars flashbacks.

No details have been revealed about Sabine’s role in Ahsoka, but the last we saw her, she was off with Ahsoka in search of Ezra who had blasted himself off with Grand Admiral Thrawn. We know that Ahsoka was searching for Thrawn in The Mandalorian, but I’m expecting Sabine to be more focused on finding her lost friend.

In Rebels, Sabine’s character is the ‘punk girl’ of the show. Despite being a capable Mandalorian warrior, she also colors her hair and does graffiti on walls and on ships. We don’t know how she can be changed for the show, but I expect a little bit of her ‘punk flair’ to show up—even if the character is a bit older.

No release date has been set for Ahsoka yet, but fans are expecting the show to release on Disney+ sometime in 2022. In the meantime, fans are waiting on The Book of Boba Fett which has a release date set for Dec. 29.
