Watch this:

Besides the tease of the musical numbers in the movie, the trailer also confirms that they will also be releasing the soundtrack on the same day of the theatrical release. The album will also include a new single called Not My Fault which is performed by Renee Rapp (this movie’s Regina George) and Megan Thee Stallion.

Though the film does have a lot of elements that are from the original film, we can see that they’ve also added a lot of original material for the musical. With the original taking place back in the 2000s, the movie looks to update the story for the 2020s, with Cady and friends having access to social media and smartphones.

From the comedic mind of Tina Fey comes a new twist on the modern classic, MEAN GIRLS. New student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls called “The Plastics,” ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George (Reneé Rapp) and her minions Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (Avantika). However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Regina’s ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself prey in Regina’s crosshairs. As Cady sets to take down the group’s apex predator with the help of her outcast friends Janis (Auli’i Cravalho) and Damian (Jaquel Spivey), she must learn how to stay true to herself while navigating the most cutthroat jungle of all: high school.

Watch out for Mean Girls when it comes to cinemas on Jan. 12.

Mean Girls: BTS Featurette Takes Inside Look at Choreography https://www.geekfeed.com/mean-girls-bts-featurette-takes-inside-look/ Mon, 01 Jan 2024 13:22:52 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80278 The Mean Girls reboot seems to be too afraid to tell audiences that it’s a musical, but we have been getting some featurettes that have been getting us better looks at the film.

Just in, Paramount has released a new BTS featurette that gives us a look at the choreography for the movie, and we have Kyle Hanagami to thank for it. Check this out:

Probably the only musical dance performance in the original Mean Girls was the Christmas talent show, but as we can see from the featurette, a lot of the movie has been expanded to fill in musical numbers, from Cady’s entrance to the school, to the introduction of Regina George.

Just for context, here’s the original Christmas number from Mean Girls:

When it comes to the musical, we can see that the costumes are definitely more dazzling; and though the number from the original looks pretty simple enough for a bunch of high school girls, it does look like the musical reboot is adding a whole bunch of new, more intricate moves for Regina and the Plastics to pull off. Not to mention, Regina’s mom (played by Busy Phillips) looks a lot more busy holding up all of her influencer gear.

Mean Girls may not have been able to come out this December in time for Christmas, but surely it should bring in some people to theaters this January.

Catch Mean Girls when it comes to cinemas on Jan. 12, 2024.

Plastic is Forever in Trailer for Mean Girls’ Musical Reboot https://www.geekfeed.com/trailer-for-mean-girls-musical-reboot/ Tue, 14 Nov 2023 03:17:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=79548 Tina Fey’s Mean Girls was one of the defining films of the ‘00s, and the story of Cady and the Plastics has enchanted multiple generations of young women. The movie has actually lived on as a musical stage play, and with that in mind, they’ve decided to bring the play to the big screen with some new and returning cast members.

Watch the trailer for 2024’s Mean Girls:

Here’s the official description:

Though the film does bring in some new actors like Jon Hamm, Ashley Park, Busy Phillips, and Jenna Fischer, the reboot does keep Tina Fey in the role of Ms. Norbury as well as Tim Meadows in the part of Principal Duvall.  Funnily enough, Principal Duvall doesn’t wear a cast in this film anymore; that was a result of Meadows actually breaking his wrist when the movie started production.

For a musical film though, the trailer doesn’t seem to feature any of songs that will be in the movie; we do get teases for multiple dance sequences. Hopefully we’ll get a tease for some of the songs in a future trailer, which hopefully drops around December.

Watch out for Mean Girls when it comes to cinemas on Jan. 12, 2024.

Jennifer Garner Does a Reverse Gone Girl with The Last Thing He Told Me https://www.geekfeed.com/jennifer-garner-in-the-last-thing-he-told-me/ Tue, 14 Mar 2023 11:00:46 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=74033 Ben Affleck had played a man with a missing wife in the critically acclaimed Gone Girl, and now his ex-wife Jennifer Garner is going to be looking for her missing husband in Apple TV+’s upcoming series The Last Thing He Told Me.

Just in, we have a new trailer starring Garner and her on-screen husband played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Check this out:

Here’s the synopsis:

This gripping limited series follows Hannah, a woman who must forge a relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter Bailey in order to find the truth about why her husband has mysteriously disappeared.

The series is based on the bestselling novel by writer Laura Dave, who is also attached as a co-creator alongside Josh Singer. Garner herself is also attached as an executive producer alongside Reese Witherspoon.

Though the relationship between Garner and Coster-Waldau’s characters seem to be in the spotlight, it looks like the movie is also going to put emphasis on the relationship with the step-daughter played by Angourie Rice. With Rice playing the daughter in another ‘missing person’ series Mare of Easttown, it’s going to be interesting to see just how she plays into this mystery, especially with her dad being the one missing—and by the looks of it, deliberately.

With a release set for April, we should be able to get another trailer in the next few weeks. The Last Thing He Told Me premieres on Apple TV+ on April 14.

Spider-Man: The Daily Bugle Launches Its Own TikTok Account https://www.geekfeed.com/spider-man-the-daily-bugle-launches-its-own-tiktok-account/ Sun, 28 Nov 2021 14:04:22 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=62600 Sometimes the marketing for a film is just as fun as the movie; it can be said for Deadpool, and it looks like Spider-Man: No Way Home is trying to follow suit.

As it turns out, the show’s fictional news source, The Daily Bugle, has started its own TikTok page, and it features J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons) and unpaid intern/Peter Parker acquaintance Betty Brant (Angourie Rice):

https://twitter.com/CultureCrave/status/1463547097597104130

For now we just have the one post, but we should expect more Spider-Man propaganda and outdated memes as the release of No Way Home draws nearer. Maybe they can even use the account to promote other Spider-Verse properties like Morbius and the upcoming Kraven film.

Going back to the video, It’s funny that Betty should be the one to intern for the Bugle, as she’s a character that Peter is connected with through work (she’s played by Elizabeth Banks in the Raimi films). You think they were thinking about her newsroom future when they made Betty a campus journalist in Homecoming?

While I was initially disappointed that they decided to revamp the Daily Bugle in the MCU to a fake news site rather than a newspaper, I’m starting to see how fitting it is for modern times. Jameson at his very core is a biased journalist, and this Jameson is essentially the Mike Zeroh to Peter’s Kathleen Kennedy.

I guess I just wanted to see Holland’s Peter Parker eventually work for Jameson as well since they have a fun dynamic; maybe when everyone’s memories are wiped, we get to see Peter actively working for Jameson just to minimize his spreading of fake news.

Catch Spider-Man: No Way Home when it hits theaters on Dec. 17.
