Aaron Taylor-Johnson – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com Entertainment News, Celebrities and Fandoms Thu, 21 Mar 2024 16:13:05 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://www.geekfeed.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/cropped-Geekfeed-Favicon-White-32x32.png Aaron Taylor-Johnson – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com 32 32 Ryan Gosling ‘Never Forgets a Fist’ in Hilarious New Trailer for The Fall Guy https://www.geekfeed.com/ryan-gosling-in-new-trailer-for-the-fall-guy/ Thu, 21 Mar 2024 16:13:05 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81599 Ryan Gosling had played a stunt driver in Drive, but now he’s going to be a full-on stuntman in the upcoming action flick The Fall Guy.

The movie is set to hit theaters this May, and we have a new trailer that gives us a great look at the stunts and tells us who’s who in the story. Check this out:

The official description for The Fall Guy goes:

He’s a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment. And now, fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job. What could possibly go right?

If you’re familiar with director David Leitch’s work, you’ll know that he has a penchant for incredibly stylized action movies, with the story usually taking a back seat (e.g., Bullet Train, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2). That being said, Leitch’s films are still incredibly fun and still have some memorable character moments and interactions—top that off with some Ryan Gosling charm and you have an almost guaranteed hit.

Gosling alone attracts a strong following online of people who are ‘literally him.’

After what I thought was a safe performance as Ken in Barbie, I’m excited to watch Gosling go all out with the comedy and action genre. Not to mention Emily Blunt is also a firecracker.

Watch out for The Fall Guy when it comes to cinemas on May 3.

Teaser for The Fall Guy Starring Ryan Gosling Brings the Ken-ergy https://www.geekfeed.com/gosling-brings-the-ken-ergy-in-the-fall-guy/ Wed, 14 Feb 2024 10:26:44 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81050 Ryan Gosling had solidified himself as the internet’s collective boyfriend thanks to Barbie, and now he’s starring in what looks to be a parody of hyper-masculinity with the movie The Fall Guy. The movie is set to come out in May, and we just got a ridiculous first teaser.

Watch this:

He’s a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment. And now, fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job. What could possibly go right?

The movie is being directed by stuntman himself David Leitch who was behind the John Wick films, Bullet Train, Atomic Blonde, and Deadpool 2; so we have a good idea of just what kind of movie to expect with The Fall Guy.

Emily Blunt looks to also be coming back to the action genre after her very memorable run with Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow. Hopefully she also gets to inject some humor into this role.

That being said, the inclusion of Gosling does add that extra dash of himbo comedy that we can expect from him. Besides Gosling and Blunt, the movie also has a cast which includes the likes of Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Winston Duke (Black Panther), and Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso).

Watch out for The Fall Guy when it releases in theaters on May 3.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is an Animal in First Trailer for Kraven the Hunter https://www.geekfeed.com/first-trailer-for-kraven-the-hunter-released/ Tue, 20 Jun 2023 14:18:41 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77386 Sony has made internet gold with the poor release of Morbius, but they’re continuing to trudge their Spider-Man spinoff world along with another villain-centric film, Kraven the Hunter. Just in, we have a new trailer, and it features Aaron Taylor-Johnson as one of Spider-Man’s deadliest foes.

Watch the trailer for Kraven here:

Though comic fans know Kraven to be a regular person who was just really good at hunting, it looks like the movie is going to be giving him special powers. Not only does he have crazy strength and agility, but it also looks like he’ll be able to take control of animals thanks to some kind of blood transfusion with a lion.

I’ll admit, some parts of the film do feel silly, but I think Sony is embracing the camp of their superhero franchise, much like what they’re doing with the Venom films. It’s kind of a miracle how Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was as self-serious as it was.

For now, it looks like Sony is trying their best to build their own kind of MCU with Spider-Man characters, and though the films have been critical bombs, they have been bringing in numbers at the box office—specifically China.

Will Kraven manage to be a success? We’ll just have to wait and see. I think Johnson is a solid actor, but I don’t know if the movie will be interesting enough to draw an audience in. Even The Flash wasn’t able to make the numbers it was expected to and they brought back Keaton’s Batman for it.

Catch Kraven the Hunter in cinemas when it comes out Oct. 6.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson Describes His Kraven the Hunter as an Animal Lover https://www.geekfeed.com/aaron-taylor-johnson-describes-his-kraven-the-hunter-as-an-animal-lover/ Wed, 22 Jun 2022 14:49:44 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=66609 Ever since Venom, Sony has been trying to rebrand some of Spider-Man’s greatest foes into ‘anti-heroes.’ They did it with Morbius, and now it seems like they’re going to be doing the same with the upcoming Kraven the Hunter.

Talking to Variety, Aaron Taylor-Johnson describes Sony’s take on his character, who is said to be more of an animal lover in the solo film. He says he has grown fond of the character because Kraven is “not an alien, or a wizard. He’s just a hunter, a human with conviction. An animal lover and a protector of the natural world. He’s a very, very cool character.”

While I can already sense a lot of angry fans complaining about the take on the character, I think you can still read ‘animal lover’ as someone who’s enthusiastic about hunting animals. I mean, surely hunters have to know everything about their prey if they want to be able to capture them.

After the huge flop that was Morbius, you’d think that Sony would want to take a step back when it comes to their approach of these Spider-Man spinoffs. I mean, we know that the Venom movies make money, but they can’t just take every Spider-Man villain and turn them into an anti-hero, and tease their clash with Spider-Man in the next five or ten years.

With the film set to release early next year, we should get a look at Kraven soon, and maybe then we can see why Sony was so excited to push forward with the film.

The Kraven the Hunter solo movie is set to hit theaters on Jan. 12, 2023.

Kraven the Hunter Set Photos Feature First Look at Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Character https://www.geekfeed.com/kraven-the-hunter-set-photos-feature-first-look-at-aaron-taylor-johnson-in-character/ Tue, 26 Apr 2022 17:07:20 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=65004 Morbius may have flopped in the box office, but Sony’s Marvel train is continuing to chug along. Production has started for Kraven the Hunter starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and we have some set photos that feature one of Spider-Man’s greatest foes.

These photos come from Just Jared (via @SpiderMan3News):

So far, a lot of Taylor-Johnson’s look seems accurate to the comic from the beard to the animal tooth necklace. Some fans have pointed out that Taylor-Johnson is also seen wearing some weird-looking shoes, which is probably some CG-stand-in where they’re going to make him look like he’s running barefoot—they did the same thing with Chris Evans in Captain America: The First Avenger.

A lot of fans have been critical of Sony’s choice to spinoff their Spider-Man characters, and it seems that Morbius was their first big blow. Though Venom was a critical bomb, the film still managed to do pretty well in China, thus spawning the sequel Let There be Carnage. A lot of fans were also questioning Kraven the Hunter when it was announced, and with Sony’s recent misfire, they are more sceptical about this property than ever.

It will have to take one hell of an impressive trailer to get everyone onboard, and as of this point, it could be too late to back out now. Sony is going to need one hell of a hook to get people to watch this film, because I’m convinced he’s not as popular as Venom.

Kraven the Hunter is set for a release on Jan. 13, 2023.

Kraven the Hunter: Fred Hechinger Cast as Chameleon https://www.geekfeed.com/kraven-the-hunter-fred-hechinger-cast-as-chameleon/ Sat, 26 Feb 2022 11:55:40 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64235 No matter how ill-conceived fans thought the idea was, Sony Pictures is moving forward with their Kraven the Hunter movie. Aaron Taylor Johnson has been signed up for a while, but now we have a new cast member joining him.

Deadline reports that Fred Hechinger (The White Lotus, Fear Streat) is joining Kraven the Hunter in the role of the Chameleon. In the comics, Chameleon is known as a master of disguise, and is also the half-brother of Kraven.

We don’t really know what Chameleon’s role in the film will be, but I suspect that he could be Kraven’s partner-in-crime. A rumor is going around that Russell Crowe has actually been cast as Kraven’s father in the movie, and I imagine that there could be some kind of family drama that pits the brothers against their father.

So far, fans are still wondering what exactly the place of Sony’s Spider-Verse will be when it comes to the MCU, because characters seem to be crossing over all the time. We thought that Morbius took place in the MCU because of an appearance from Michael Keaton’s Vulture, but he also knows about Venom who isn’t even from the MCU.

We don’t know when Sony plans to give us our first look at Kraven the Hunter, but I’m going to remain skeptical until we get our first trailer. I’ll admit, I didn’t think Venom was going to be a good idea either, but even if I didn’t like the film, it still made a lot of bank in China; maybe Sony is leaning in on that idea for the rest of their upcoming Spider-Man spinoffs?

Kraven the Hunter is expected to come out Jan. 13, 2023. The next Spider-Verse spinoff, Morbius, hit theaters on April 1.

Former Avenger Aaron Taylor-Johnson Cast as Kraven the Hunter https://www.geekfeed.com/former-avenger-aaron-taylor-johnson-cast-as-kraven-the-hunter/ Fri, 28 May 2021 04:28:29 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59709 A lot of people were disappointed that Aaron Taylor-Johnson didn’t make any kind of Quicksilver cameo in WandaVision, but it looks like the Kick-Ass star is going to be coming back to Marvel in another way.

As per The Wrap, Taylor-Johnson has been cast as Kraven the Hunter in planned solo movie by Sony. We don’t have any details when it comes to the plot, but Kraven the Hunter is said to be the ‘next chapter of Sony’s universe of Marvel-licensed characters.’ The film will be directed by J.C. Chandor with a screenplay coming from Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk.

In the comics, Kraven is considered to be one of Spider-Man’s most formidable villains. Essentially, he’s an obsessed big-game hunter who had his eyes set on Spider-Man, even going so far as to actually kill him. We don’t know what Taylor-Johnson’s take on the character can be, but seeing as he’s shed his ‘wimp’ image from Kick-Ass, it’s going to be interesting to see him go full-villain against someone like Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

We don’t know what Sony’s Spider-Verse’s connections will be to the larger MCU, but with the new deal between Sony and Disney, it’s possible that the two universes can be more connected moving forward. While this could mean some confused casting with Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver, I think Marvel is just eager to not mention it—just like with Gemma Chan appearing in both Captain Marvel and Eternals as different characters.

Kraven the Hunter is set for a release on Jan. 13, 2023.
