It looks like it will be a while before we get to see Quentin Tarantino’s Star Trek movie since he’s currently working on this period piece called Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. We have just recently gotten news that Margot Robbie is playing the role of real-life celebrity Sharon Tate. Now news has it that the film has found someone to play Bruce Lee.

According to The Wrap, Inhumans and Street Fighter actor Mike Moh has been cast as martial arts icon Bruce Lee. Seeing that Moh already has a lot of experience when it comes to fighting scenes, I’m not surprised if we’ll see this fictional version of Lee actually get into some fights onscreen.

If I were to  bet on anything, Tarantino will be making a reference to Lee’s days as Kato on The Green Hornet. No doubt Lee’s work provided a lot of inspiration to Kill Bill, from the Crazy 88 dressed like Katos to the actual intro of The Green Hornet playing over a sequence focused on O’Ren Ishii.

I’m excited to see where Tarantino will be taking Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Any fan of him knows that he’s a lover of old cinema, and it would be interesting to see what kind of take he has with that era, considering how much of it influenced his work.

Here’s the premise:

A faded TV actor [Leonardo DiCaprio] and his stunt double [Brad Pitt] embark on an odyssey to make a name for themselves in the film industry during the Helter Skelter reign of terror in 1969 Los Angeles.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood comes out July 26, 2019.
