Star Wars: King Arthur Writer Hired for Obi-Wan Series

Besides The Mandalorian,Disney+ has a lot of other Star Wars shows in the works, one of which is centered on everyone’s favorite Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi. With the production making a delay so they can polish up the scripts, news has it that Lucasfilm has found a new scribe for the show.

As per Variety, Joby Harold has been hired to write the new scripts for the Kenobi series. Admittedly, Harold doesn’t have too many writing credits under his belt. Probably the biggest title he’s worked on is King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and that movie wasn’t even that well-received. Besides that, he’s teamed up with Zack Snyder for the upcoming Army of the Dead; and he’s also attached to write an upcoming Transformers film.

While Harold may not be as prolific of a writer yet, he has been attached as a producer for some well-reviewed films like Edge of Tomorrow and John Wick 3. Then again, being a good producer doesn’t really mean you’re a good creative as well. Just ask X-Men: Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg.

Personally, I would have preferred an Obi-Wan movie compared to a series, but if director Deborah Chow wants to make a show, then I guess there’s no stopping her. I just hope that this time around, they make episodes an hour long. I always felt that The Mandalorian could have used more time with each episode.

No release date has been set for Disney+’s Kenobi show, but The Mandalorian 2 comes out this October.
