Star Wars: Kenobi Series to Feature Darth Vader?

News has just dropped that Ewan McGregor is in talks to reprise Obi-Wan Kenobi for a Disney+ series, but besides that, we don’t really know anything about the show. What’s interesting is, a rumor has come out that we could be seeing a certain Sith Lord make an appearance.

According to FanthaTracks, McGregor is not only going to star, but possible direct episodes of Kenobi as well. What’s more, Mcgregor “will be performing alongside a familiar mechanical co-star, and when we heard who it was, our hearts skipped a beat.” If that isn’t Darth Vader, then the only other choice is likely to be C-3PO, and that seems very unlikely.

Of course, we still have no confirmation on whether any of this is true. Hopefully we get some solid updates come the D23 Expo which happens later this month.

If you watch A New Hope, it would seem that Vader and Kenobi’s last encounter would be on Mustafar where Obi-Wan maimed Anakin. With the possibility of Force Visions and whatnot, it’s very likely that Vader could come in that form. Then again, it would be interesting if the series also followed Vader and his search for Kenobi. He knows that Obi-Wan is alive, and maybe this series can deal with Obi-Wan faking his death so Vader doesn’t look for him anymore. This is also just some wishful thinking, but I would love to see Hayden Christensen return as Anakin in one way or another.

I’m just spit-balling here. Hopefully Lucasfilm can come up with something better than what I just had off the top of my head.

No release date has been set for the Kenobi series, but you can catch The Mandalorian when it debuts on Disney+ this coming Nov. 12.
