Star Wars: Ahsoka Series Announces Start of Production

Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano may have small parts in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, but she’s set to have her own show on Disney+. Just in, the official Star Wars account has announced the start of production.

Check out the Ahsoka post down here:

We don’t have a look at Dawson in costume, but we do have a cowboy hat on that chair, which means franchise hero Dave Filoni is working on the show.

We don’t know what the series is about and where it’s set in the Star Wars timeline, but we can assume that the events happen around the Original Trilogy era. Although, there could be room for flashbacks, seeing that Hayden Christensen has been confirmed to reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker.

Besides Christensen and Dawson, the series has also cast the likes of Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, and Ivanna Sakhno. The only other actress with a named character is Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who is playing the character of Sabine Wren from Rebels.

If her Mando appearance is any clue, we know that Ahsoka is in the search for Grand Admiral Thrawn. While it’s likely he would appear in this series, it’s also possible we would get the live-action debut of another Rebels character, Ezra Bridger, who ended up missing in the Rebels finale, and Ahsoka and Sabine set off to find him.

No release date has been set for the Ahsoka series, but Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 27.
