In the last few months, Hollywood has seen its fair share of sexual harassment scandals. From Harvey Weinstein to Kevin Spacey, it seems like the truth about the town is coming out and perpetrators are no longer safe. Recently, another accusation has been made against Marvel’s own Stan Lee.
Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee has recently faced sexual harassment accusations from various anonymous nurses who have been caring for him in his Hollywood Hills home. According to his accusers, the former president and chairman of Marvel has repeatedly groped, directed lewd comments and asked for oral sex from them. So dire is the situation that the owner of the company has publicly told associates that Stan Lee has harassed every nurse in her company including herself.
“The owner at the nursing company has openly said to people that Stan has sexually harassed every single nurse that has been to the house. That got back to Lee and sparked this whole thing. It appears the owner, who has nursed Stan herself, eventually decided enough was enough.” explained the source to Daily Mail.
The source further explains that Stan Lee seems to have lost touch with reality and has lost his grasp on accepted social behavior. He doesn’t care about his actions and how they affect the people who care for him. Ultimately, he harasses women for a good laugh.
“Stan is an old man who has seemingly lost his way. He doesn’t seem to care what people think of him, he’s lost his filter. There has been a stream of young nurses coming to his house in West Hollywood and he has been sexually harassing them. He finds it funny.”
The nursing company has severed their ties with Mr. Lee in the tail-end of last year.
Representatives of the Marvel icon has since issued a statement regarding the accusations and have filed a cease and desist order against the owner of the nursing company. According to Stan Lee’s lawyer, Tom Lallas, there is simply no truth to the recent claims. He explains that they have not been informed of any civil action or reports to the police regarding Lee’s behavior. Lallas states that if the allegations were true, the first recourse should be reporting it to the authorities.
“Lee categorically denies these false and despicable allegations and he fully intends to fight to protect his stellar good name and impeccable character. We are not aware of anyone filing a civil action, or reporting these issues to the police, which for any genuine claim would be the more appropriate way for it to be handled” explains Lallas as part of the official statement.
Stan Lee is estimated to be worth around $50 million from his involvement in several Marvel comic franchises. The 95-year-old icon was the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics and the current CEO of Pow! Entertainment. He co-created famous characters like Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four. In July of 2017, Lee was widowed when his wife of 70 years, Joan, passed away.
