Disney didn’t disappoint, the new trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has gone live. Check it out below.
The trailer is packed. There’s a lot going on, but it’s hard not to smile while watching it. Javier Bardem and Johnny Depp are shown in a flashback, digitally de-aged and depicting the motive behind Bardem’s character, Captain Salazar, being on the hunt for Captain Jack Sparrow during Dead Men Tell No Tales. And then zombie sharks attack… If this is indeed the Sparrow’s last run, he has to go out with a bang.
It’s been six years since On Stranger Tides and the franchise has been sorely missed. The series’ trademark humor and high-action make a return with new tricks and several new characters in tow. As such, the stakes have been raised. Might Jack actually be in real danger this time? We won’t have long to find out.
Read the synopsis for the Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg-directed final installment below:
“The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea – notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifull small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has never faced.”
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales sets sail on May 26.
