With The Office set to leave Netflix soon, it looked like the streaming service has opted for a ‘replacement’ in the form of Greg Daniels’ Space Force. While the show wasn’t as well-received as some fans had hoped, it looks like Netflix is ready to give it a second chance.
According to What’s On Netflix, Space Force has been renewed for a second season. We don’t have that much details on what’s coming, but it’s said that despite the poor critic reviews, SF was well-received by viewers and went to the top of the Netflix charts when it released.
While I think the show definitely has some problems in the first season, I thought that it had really good potential. The characters are all very well-likeable, and despite the silly premise, there is some genuine heart when it comes to the storytelling.
Though Mark Naird is no Michael Scott, there’s still a lot of room for him to grow. Plus we also have some great characters from John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, and Tawny Newsome.
If you’re familiar with Daniels two previous hit shows, The Office and Parks and Recreation, you’ll know that the first season is always the weakest one. Hopefully with the new info they’ve gathered with the release of Space Force, we can have a more refined second season, and have the next big hit series for Netflix, fingers crossed.
We don’t have a release date for Space Force 2 yet, but hopefully we can get it sometime next year.
