After his stellar work on The Nice Guys, Shane Black is now on helm of the latest Predator movie. A new trailer has just been released for The Predator, and it promises a more dangerous foe that not even the regular predators can beat.
Check it out:
From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
It’s interesting that Black would be the one to direct this Predator movie as he actually starred in the 1987 film along with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Having him at the helm of the film is like having Ewan McGregor direct a Star Wars movie.
With the Predator movies usually ending up as slasher films, I’m interested to see what Black has to bring to the table. After all, Black’s specialty with his films usually falls in the action-comedy genre. I wonder what kind of horror elements he could bring to this film.
Catch The Predator in theaters Sept. 14.
