Back in 2017, the IT reboot managed to become a smash hit, and director Andy Muschietti is pushing forward with his sequel later this year. With the film set to come out in September, WB has just released their first trailer for IT: Chapter 2 which gives us a look at the adult Losers Club as well as the returning Pennywise the Clown.
Here’s the official description:
Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, “It Chapter Two” brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.
I have to say, the casting director for the movie got the adult cast members spot on. I mean, I guess you still need big name actors like James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, and Bill Hader, but Isaiah Mustafa (Mike), Jay Ryan (Ben), and James Ransone (Eddie) look just like their child counterparts.
Andy Bean has also been cast as Stanley, but you don’t really get to see him in the trailers. I don’t really want to spoil anything, but the reason happens pretty early on in the story. Who knows, maybe the film decided to change some things just like they did with the trailers for Avengers.
Catch IT: Chapter 2 when it comes out Sept. 6.
