After Pixar’s successful release of Soul last Christmas, Walt Disney Animation is now set to come out with Raya and The Last Dragon starring Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina. With the movie set to come out next month, we have a new international trailer that gives us a great overview of the fictional world of Kumandra.

While Raya may have been the main focus of the movie in the marketing so far, we now have a great look at the other clans that make up her world and each member that joins Raya on her quest. We now know that the world is split in these factions—Fang, Heart, Spine, Tail, and Talon—and it looks like Fang is going to be the main antagonist as far as the plot goes.
I have to say, after Disney kind of screwed over Kelly Marie Tran with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, I’m happy to see that she actually got a Disney princess deal out of it. I have no doubt she’s going to capture hearts of young girls with Raya when the film comes out.

“Raya and the Last Dragon” takes us on an exciting, epic journey to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.
