Besides Zack Snyder’s Justice League on HBO Max, it looks like Snyder’s run with the DCEU franchise has come to an end. He’s teamed up with Netflix for a movie called Army of the Dead, and what’s interesting is that there’s a neat JL Easter Egg that can be spotted in a new photo from the film.

First off, let’s look at the photo from Entertainment Weekly:

ARMY OF THE DEAD

@theSNYDERVERSE on Twitter pointed out that the shot actually contains the film reel for the Snyder Cut of Justice League, and it looks like the same photo that Snyder shared when he teased that his cut did exist—way before the official announcement on HBO Max.

Apparently Snyder had been trying to get WB to make this movie for a while. He said, “[WB] didn’t want to spend that kind of money on a zombie movie, or just didn’t take it that seriously… I was always like, ‘Look guys, this is more than [just a zombie movie],’ but it fizzled out.”

Eventually, Netflix took over, and they were so enthusiastic about the film that they even greenlit a four-hour animated prequel series that will delve into the start of the zombie plague.

For now, no release date has been set for Army of the Dead or the prequel series, but we should expect both to hit Netfix sometime later this year. With Snyder hoping to release his Justice League in March, it’s likely Army of the Dead could be something for the Halloween season. Here’s the synopsis:

Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.

No release date has been set for Netflix’s Army of the Dead.
