Woody and the gang are coming back to cinemas this June, a whole new bunch of characters are going to be coming along for the ride. One new cast member that’s been announced is Keanu Reeves, and we may have some new details on who he’s playing in the film.
As per The Observer, Reeves is playing a toy named Duke Kaboom. As it turns out, Duke comes from a place where discontinued toys are sent, and Bo Peep (Woody’s love interest in the earlier Toy Story films) will ask Duke for help to find her lost sheep.
We don’t really know what Kaboom looks like yet, but with Reeves onboard, I’m figuring they’re making him up to be some kind of badass. What’s interesting is, along with Reeves, the cast also includes voice work from Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key; the two had collaborated with Reeves in their movie about a kitten also titled Keanu.
We don’t have a full trailer for Toy Story 4 as of now, but with the release date set for June, I’m guessing we could get a full trailer sometime soon. There were rumors of a trailer coming out a few weeks ago, but it seems that those plans were cancelled. Nothing we can do now, but wait.
Woody has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that is Bonnie or Andy, but when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her bedroom, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.
Toy Story 4 hits cinemas June 21.
