Though she may have skipped out on Thor: Ragnarok, Natalie Portman is going to be coming back for Thor: Love and Thunder and she’s going to be the one wielding Mjolnir this time. While we don’t have a look at her version of Thor yet, some set photos have come out, and it reveals that Portman has gotten buff for the role.

We don’t know exactly what the story for Love and Thunder is yet, but if the comics are any hint, Jane (Portman) would have terminal cancer, and in order to save her, she is imbued with the power of Thor, hence making her the new God of Thunder.
We don’t know if that’s exactly what’s going to happen in the film, but it would be interesting to see if director Taika Waititi could add some new twists to the story. With Captain America and Iron Man essentially wrapping up their arcs in Avengers: Endgame, Thor is the only member of the Marvel trinity to leave with an open-ended story. Maybe he finds a new Asgard and becomes the new Odin figure? It would be better than just killing him off.
With a release set for 2022, fans are hoping we get a first look at Love and Thunder before the year ends. Then again, with Marvel checking out of the box office for 2020, they have a lot more material they have to focus marketing on like Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home. When that Black Widow movie going to come out?
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to come out on May 6, 2022. The next Marvel Studios property, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, premieres on Disney+ on March 19.
