MCU to Introduce Openly Gay Male Lead with Eternals

We don’t have any official announcements on what’s coming to the MCU after Spider-Man: Far from Home, but we do know that an Eternals movie is in the works. After all their diversity home runs with Black Panther and soon enough Captain Marvel, Marvel Studios has announced that Eternals will introduce the first LGBTQ character in the MCU.

That Hashtag Show reports that Marvel is currently looking for an actor aged 30-49 and has the physicality of a superhero. It’s said that they are open to all ethnicities to take on the role, but they would prefer that whoever gets the part would be openly gay.

We don’t have any idea of who they have in mind, but a fan-favorite name that’s come up is Luke Evans (Beauty and the Beast, The Hobbit). We know that Evans can pull of superhero roles with Dracula Untold, but with that cinematic universe cancelled, he may as well jump ship to Marvel.

My personal pick would be Zachary Levi who isn’t s stranger to the superhero genre, but if Marvel really wanted to play it up, I would be all in for Billy Eichner who just screams at the whole team for being idiots.

It’s been a while since Marvel announced Eternals, and I’m kind of convinced that a movie could come out sometime in 2020. We don’t really know what to expect with the group being obscure to the general audience, but I’m sure Marvel will do some great work like they did with Guardians of the Galaxy.

No release date has been set for Eternals.
