FN-2187 or “Finn” was one of the protagonists of the Star Wars sequel trilogy and he’s actually a well-actualized character brought to life by John Boyega. With Finn and the rest of the ST crew coming back for The Rise of Skywalker, Boyega explains that this may be his last time playing the character.

Talking to MTV News, Boyega was asked whether he would be playing Finn again in the future, to which he says, “Honestly, the bottom of my heart, I don’t think that I am [going to play Finn again… This really is that movie. I think everyone doesn’t believe it but this is that war that just ends everything.”

Even if Boyega does say that this movie ‘ends everything’ we all know very well that Disney plans to make more Star Wars films in the foreseeable future; it’s even said that there are plans to bring back characters like Finn, Rey, and Poe. Then again, if the characters do come back, I imagine it’s going to be after a long while, and not like, only 5 years after the release of TROS.

Then again, if this movie plans to kill off Finn, I can imagine that Boyega is sure when he says he won’t be coming back. Finn was so ready to sacrifice himself in The Last Jedi, I bet he’s still ready to lay down his life in this last movie—and Rose won’t be there to stop him.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes out Dec. 20.
