DC Universe may have cancelled Swamp Thing, but they have a lot of other shows incoming. One of which is the animated Harley Quinn series starring Kaley Cuoco, and though we don’t have a specific release date, we do have a new BTS featurette giving us a good look at the show.
I have to say, the show has managed to assemble quite the amazing cast. Besides Cuoco doing some impressive voice work asHarley, we also have the likes of Lake Bell, Adam Tudyk, Jim Rash, Tony Hale, JB Smoove, and so much more comedy heavyweights. I also think it’s cool that they got Diedrich Bader to do the voice for Batman.
As for the show itself, it kind of feels like Harley Quinn is DC’s answer to Deadpool. You have the insane humor and gross out violence, and if you caught the first teaser, you’ll have Harley breaking the fourth wall; I don’t know if that’s going to be part of the TV show, but I wouldn’t put it past Harley to start talking to an imaginary audience.
With this show coming out in the fall, it would be the perfect time to promote the character, seeing as Harley is also set to return to the big screen next year with Birds of Prey. We don’t know when we’re going to get our first official teaser for the film, but I have a feeling it’s going to be connected to the release of the animated Harley Quinn series.
No specific release date has been set for Harley Quinn, but we should expect it to hit DC Universe this coming fall.
