While everyone is waiting in anticipation for Avengers 4, Marvel Studios is taking a slight detour to bring us to the MCU in the 90s with Captain Marvel. As promised, a new trailer has been dropped, and it features Carol Danvers in all her glory.

It’s been said that the origin of Captain Marvel in the movie is going to be a bit altered, given the fact that her story closely resembles that of Green Lantern. The movie actually starts with Carol complete with her abilities. It looks like she’ll be spending the rest of the movie recalling her life on Earth.
There’s a lot to love about the preview. For one, we get a young Nick Fury as well as a very dashing Agent Phil Coulson. I have a feeling we’re going to be running into either Howard Stark or an older Peggy Carter at some point. It’s also worth noting that we have a brief glimpse of Guardians of the Galaxy villain Ronan the Accuser.
I think it’s also worth mentioning that it’s fantastic that the movie was able to find a way to give us Captain Marvel’s costume complete with helmet and Mohawk. It’s not the final look, but homages are pretty great. They pretty much did the same thing with Captain America: The First Avenger.
