We’ve virtually seen Wonder Woman wear the same costume ever since we’ve met her in Batman v Superman. But now it looks like we’ll be seeing her get an upgrade in the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel.
It was revealed by Daniel Eliesen that Wonder Woman’s new gear was showcased in the 2018 Licensing Expo, but the tweets have since been deleted. We were supposed to get a glimpse of Diana’s new “Battle armor” in the tweets. The post also had some concept art for what Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) could look like.
With Marvel heroes usually getting a costume change with every movie, DC has been surprisingly consistent with their designs, only giving slight changes to costumes we’ve been introduced to. Henry Cavill still basically wears the same Superman suit since Man of Steel except with brighter colors. I guess if it ain’t broke…
With Wonder Woman being the DCEU’s only surefire hit, a lot of expectations are put on Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot to deliver a great sequel. This time around, Diana will be going to America at the end of the Cold War era. Hopefully, we’ll get an explanation as to why Diana is in hiding by the time BvS rolls around.
Wonder Woman 2 is set to come out Nov. 1, 2019.
