For the past few months, there have been rumors going around saying that Anakin Skywalker may very well make a surprise appearance in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Though Lucasfilm has yet to confirm those reports, a new tweet from Disney suggests that the rumors may have some truth to them after all.

Disney just recently shared a photo of Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge In Disneyland. While the photo doesn’t really entail any spoilers, the Mickey Mouse House chose to delete the image a few hours after it was posted, sparking speculation about the actor’s involvement in Episode IX.

A Star Wars fan managed to take a screenshot of the Twitter post and now it looks like the image is making the rounds on Reddit, sparking speculation that Anakin Skywalker could turn up in The Rise of Skywalker after all.

Disney deleted this tweet shortly after posting. Hayden Natalie Adam and Daisy all seem to be in LA for photo shoot. Anakin in TROS proof? from starwarsspeculation

Christensen has been avoiding a lot of Star Wars gatherings and events aver since he completed work on the Star Wars prequel trilogy, however, it seems like Christensen’s been making a few appearances over the years, the most recent of which includes this visit to Disneyland’s Star Wars theme park.

Though this doesn’t really seem like a direct confirmation that Christensen’s set to reprise his role in The Rise of Skywalker, we can see Anakin making a return – after all, what better way to end the Skywalker saga than to bring back the Chosen One?

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
