While people are sure that Marvel Studios is going to fully reboot the X-Men and Fantastic Four from Fox, rumor has it that they’re going to be keeping Ryan Reynolds’ version of Deadpool. We don’t know exactly what Disney has in mind for the character, but it’s likely they’ve already met with Reynolds about their strategy. The hint? Reynolds has just posted that he went for a visit to Marvel Studios.
Check it out:
Auditioned for the role of “Anthony Stark”. Didn’t come even remotely close, but the nice man with the taser escorted me to the ground. pic.twitter.com/1bwFDGdMOj

Of course, this doesn’t set anything in stone, but fans are hopeful that Marvel finds something to do with Deadpool sooner rather than later. While the last X-Men films flopped, Deadpool managed to soar in the box office, so it’s best that Marvel would keep the character fresh in our minds. It’s just a case of putting a famously R-rated character in the family-friendly world of the MCU.
If you ask me, they should have Deadpool pulled into the MCU via some kind of multiverse door by Doctor Strange. This way, the past Deadpool films manage to be canon, and when asked why he doesn’t want to go back to his own timeline, Wade can just say his “universe was cancelled by Disney.” They can even use the character as an introduction to the mutants.
We don’t know when we’re going to see Deadpool in cinemas again, but hopefully Marvel is planning something soon. Fingers crossed it’s with Spider-Man 3, but my money’s still on a Doctor Strange property like Multiverse of Madness or WandaVision.
