Dreamworks Animation finally dropped their trailer The Croods 2 called The Croods: A New Age. The movie was delayed for quite some time as it had been canceled in 2016, but then Dreamworks and Universal put it back on the table not long after, then after some back and forth the release date was pushed then put forward and now has an official release date of November 25th.
The film directed by Joel Crawford and featuring Nicolas Cage, Catherine Keener, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Clark Duke, and Cloris Leachman returns to voice the Croods. Peter Dinklage, Leslie Mann, and Kelly Marie Tran join them as the Betterman’s is sure to please audiences on Thanksgiving weekend. The plot features The Croods as they were introduced in the first movie as needing to find a new place to live when they run into a newly developed and modern compound by The Croods. So far we like what we see and it looks like focusing a lot of this on female friendship rather than rivalry might actually pay off for what could otherwise be a cliche sequel.
You can see The Croods 2 is also avoiding a PVOD release which may be a risky move on their party considering all theatres aren’t running at full capacity, but we will see how this plays out and in the meantime, you can see The Croods: A New Age in Theatres November 25th.
