News broke out a few weeks ago that Lady Gaga had turned down a role in Cathy Yan’s upcoming DCEU movie, Birds of Prey. However, it seems that WB is backing down as they raised their offer just to have Gaga star in a lead role in their movie.

According to SuperBroMovies, WB has upped their initial offer to Gaga, and they want her onboard the film either as The Huntress or Black Canary. Seeing that superhero films require a lot of commitment, it would be understandable why Gaga would back out of the role, but with the right price, WB might just change her mind.

For now, Gaga is generating a lot of interest with her role in the upcoming A Star is Born directed and starring Bradley Cooper. The film is one of the most anticipated for the season, and Gaga’s popularity could prove a major box office draw for a film as obscure as Birds of Prey.

If Gaga should join, she would entering a cast which already includes Margot Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn. We don’t have anyone officially cast yet, but the roster of the Birds includes Black Canary, The Huntress, Det. Renee Montoya, and Cassandra Cain.

There’s also a possibility that Barbara Gordon a.k.a. Batgirl will make an appearance.

Birds of Prey has no official release date yet, but with a production aiming to start early 2019, we could be looking at a release in 2020.
