The Clone Wars may be done, but Dave Filoni’s animated Star Wars stories continue with the next season of The Bad Batch. The show is set to return in January, and we have a new trailer showing off the returning Clone Force 99.
Here’s the official description:
When the new season opens, months have passed since the events on Kamino, and the Bad Batch continue their journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic. They will cross paths with friends and foes, both new and familiar, as they take on a variety of thrilling mercenary missions that will take them to unexpected and dangerous new places.
Returning members of the Bad Batch include Omega, Hunter, Tech, Echo, and Wrecker. The last season saw Crosshair betray the group for the Empire, but it looks like they would still be able to talk to him in this season.
We also have a look at some familiar locations like the senate at Coruscant, and fans are sure to recognize the Emperor and Bail Organa. Plus we also have confirmation of 501st deserter Captain Rex.
I’ll admit, after Andor, it’s kind of hard to just jump back into more reference-dependent series like The Bad Batch, but I’m sure the show has its fans. Who knows, maybe the series could give us some hints at other upcoming shows like Ahsoka which is set to come out next year.
The Bad Batch Season 2 starts streaming on Disney+ on Jan. 4, 2023.
