With Thor: Love and Thunder coming out in 2021, fans of Taika Waititi can enjoy his much smaller film Jojo Rabbit coming out tomorrow. Fox Searchlight has released a new BTS featurette for the movie, and it gives us an inside look at the film.
Check it out:
What’s interesting is that you can see Waititi’s love for telling stories from the perspective of children. He’s done the same with past movies like Boy and Hunt for the Wilderpeople, and now he’s tellingthe story of a young, happy boy in Nazi Germany.
Scarlet Johansson herself also has this fun tidbit about getting on the film after Avengers co-star Chris Hemsworth gushed about Waititi’s script to her. I think she’s a wonderful addition to the cast, and I really want to see how she plays the part of the mother in the film. Not to mention the movie also has some interesting stars included like Stephen Merchant, Sam Rockwell, Rebel Wilson, and Alfie Allen.
Writer director Taika Waititi (THOR: RAGNAROK, HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE), brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, JOJO RABBIT, a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy (Roman Griffin Davis as JoJo) whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi), Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.
Jojo Rabbit hits theaters Oct. 18.
